With Stage-IV actions under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) being enforced in Delhi Saturday, classes for students up to Class 9, and Class 11 will be moved to the hybrid mode. Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has laid the keel for a hybrid electric service operation vessel (SOV) for the UK-based North Star Shipping (Aberdeen) Limited. The 85-metre battery-electric hybrid SOV, the second being constructed by CSL for North Star, is designed in collaboration with VARD AS, Norway. “The vessel is built under the classification of DNV, equipped with a hybrid electric system powered by lithium-ion batteries and DC-based power system, fitted with electric Azimuth propulsion for enhanced manoeuvrability and modern walk-to-work gangway arrangement enabling safe and efficient personnel transfers in offshore environments,” CSL said in a statement on Thursday. The Taiwan-based chipmaker unveiled its first hybrid computing solution to offer AI capabilities on the edge, a new chipset to bring AI to in-car infotainment systems, as well as an Internet-of-things (IoT) platform to power a broad range of devices at the event. While Khalid Rahman directed movies like Alappuzha Gymkhana, Thallumala and Unda, Ashraf Hamsa directed movies like Thamaasha and Bheemante Vazhi. The duo and one Shahid Mohammed were held from the apartment of Samir Thahir with 1.5 gm of suspected hybrid ganja. They reportedly claimed that they converged at the apartment to discuss about a movie. “The raid was done on the basis of a tip off. The duo were released on bail by 7 a.m., since the quantity of the drug was minimum. They escaped by a whisker a similar raid we had conducted in March at the apartment. The Excise department in Kerala has intensified the investigation into the seizure of three kg of alleged hybrid ganja worth around ₹2 crore from a resort at Omanapuzha in Alappuzha recently. Sources said the investigation had been extended to the Malayalam film industry after Thasleema Sulthana, the prime accused in the case, revealed the names of a couple of film stars with whom she has close ties and consumed drugs with. “Thasleema has named two Malayalam film stars with whom she has used drugs. However, no further details have been disclosed. Her mobile phone will be sent for forensic examination to gather scientific evidence and take the case forward,” said an Excise department official. The official added that there was currently “no incriminating evidence to suggest that Thasleema sold drugs to individuals in the film industry.” Excise sleuths arrested Thasleema and her accomplice K.
