Exclusive | OMG 2: Amit Rai questions Paresh Rawal’s claims of not getting credit for film’s idea: Kis aadhaar pe…?

Oh My God 2 director Amit Rai has rubbished Paresh Rawal’s claims that the latter gave the idea of the film but was not given the due credit. Amit has questioned the basis on which Paresh has made these claims. Amit Rai has questioned Paresh Rawal’s claims that OMG 2 was the actor’s idea. He tells us, “Wo kis tathya ke adhaar pe ye keh rahe hai? First he needs to answer this. He is merely making a claim. Kehne ko to wo kuch bhi keh sakte hai. Wo bade actor hai, I cannot go up to an actor of his stature and and ask why is he saying this.” Comparing OMG 2, which is led by Akshay Kumar, to that of raising a child, Amit says “Jaha tak mujhe yaad hai ki, us film ka janak bhi main hi hun, uska karta bhi main hi hun, school bhejne wala bhi main hi hun aur college bhejne wala bhi main hi hun.” To proof of that is the certificate from screenwriter association and the stamp …

Paresh Rawal claims OMG 2 was his idea: ‘Akshay Kumar took the script, didn’t give me credit’ | Bollywood News

6 min readNew DelhiUpdated: Jul 16, 2026 04:51 PM IST When OMG 2 was gearing up for release in 2023, it ran into trouble with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) over its blend of sex education and religious themes. After multiple delays, the film was eventually cleared with an A certificate, even though the makers had hoped for a U/A rating as they intended to target adolescents. Several modifications were also made, including changing Akshay Kumar’s character from Lord Shiva to ‘Shiv ka Doot’. However, according to Paresh Rawal, much of the controversy could have been avoided had the makers stuck to his original story, which, he claims, centred on the relationship between a father and son and did not involve any divine intervention. Speaking to Vickey Lalwani, the veteran actor claimed he had conceived the original story for what later became OMG 2 and shared the idea with director Amit Rai, with whom he developed the screenplay. According to him, the project took a different turn after Akshay Kumar came on board. …

Himanta Biswa Sarma at Idea Exchange: ‘Don’t think polarisation needed in Assam, I controlled the menace’ | Idea Exchange News

5 min readNew DelhiJul 4, 2026 04:26 AM IST Assam needed a “polarising figure” in order to restore the confidence of the state’s indigenous population and, now that “people feel that there is a government which will not take care of just one community”, there is no need for polarisation, said Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Responding to questions on a wide range of issues at The Indian Express Idea Exchange Friday, Sarma also spoke about the conflict in Manipur, saying it could only be settled by the communities involved. Speaking about the Congress, he accused Rahul Gandhi of pushing the main opposition party from its traditional “centrist” politics towards a Left-influenced, caste-focused line “borrowed” from JNU. Asked whether a moderate face of Sarma would be seen in the next five years after his re-election in May, he said: “I do not think polarisation is required in Assam. I have controlled that menace. Now nobody can put a finger on Assamese people. No one has the guts to encroach on the land of temples, nobody …

The veteran actress looked back at her iconic Filmfare bikini cover, an image that remains etched in the history of Indian pop culture.   While the cover sparked a nationwide conversation, Sharmila clarified that the decision to pose in a bikini was entirely her own, dismissing long-standing rumours that it was a calculated move for publicity. She shared during the session, “It was actually my idea. The photographer, Dheeraj Chawla, wanted to do a photoshoot, and I suggested, ‘Why not a bikini?’ It was entirely my decision, and I can’t put it on anybody else. I simply thought it would look nice.” However, the public response to the cover was far from what she had expected. She described the subsequent outrage as unbelievable, mentioning that it was “almost like a ‘bikini bomb.’” Many people at the time assumed the choice was a cynical publicity stunt, a claim Sharmila firmly denied. She explained, “People …

Mirzapur The Movie Teaser Review: No Idea What World This Is With Jitendra Kumar Joining Ali Fazal, Divyenndu & Pankaj Tripathi

Mirzapur The Movie Teaser Review: I Can Only Say Good Luck Fans! (Photo Credit: YouTube) I was wrong when I thought that Mirzapur had exhausted its entire stock of gunpowder and weapons. Excel Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios have thrown a massive, chaotic twist with the teaser for Mirzapur: The Movie. My head spins for two reasons – A. I do not understand if it’s the same world and same people in different timelines, or if it’s the same people in different worlds, or different people in the same world, but with different actors. I don’t know. B. I keep pondering over point A! Anyway, starring Divyenndu as Munna Tripathi, Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya, and Ali Fazal as Guddu Bhaiya, the much hyped crime world is taking its bhaukaal to the silver screen on September 4, 2026. The promo proudly says, “Hindi philam ke hero hain hum, kaha tha na, hum amar hain,” and voila, Munna Bhaiya is back! But between timelines getting heavily twisted, dead characters magically walking among the living, and a …

Kamal Haasan on 45-year-old movie idea finally releasing: ‘I am 71 and I get to see it’ | Telugu News

5 min readChennaiJun 7, 2026 04:08 PM IST Four decades ago, somewhere in Kerala, Kamal Haasan and director Singeetham Srinivasa Rao were sitting together talking about a film. Not Pushpaka Vimana, which they were already working on. Another film entirely, one where every line of dialogue would be sung. Nobody would agree to make it but they kept talking about it anyway. 45 years later, that film is releasing on June 11 as Sing Geetham, directed by Singeetham at the age of 94. Talking about the film at a pre-release event in Chennai, Kamal reminisced about the first time he met the director. “Our first movie happened rather casually when we met in Mumbai. That day we spoke about two films, Pushpaka Vimana and Sing Geetham. I was 20 when we were talking about it. Now, I am 71 and I get to see this movie. Some ideas are ageless, and that is why he is like that. He is full of ideas. And hence age is just a number. Like take two, take three, …

Why hiding your mouth while abusing rivals is a bad idea at 2026 FIFA World Cup | Football News

Why hiding your mouth while abusing rivals is a bad idea at 2026 FIFA World Cup | Football News

Don’t have something to hide? Don’t cover your mouth when you say it. “That’s it, as simple as that,” FIFA president Gianni Infantino stated about the new red card rule to be adopted at the 2026 World Cup. The rule empowers referees to eject players who hide their mouths during run-ins with opponents. It was a direct consequence of Gianluca Prestianni’s dubious conduct towards Vinicius Junior in their February UEFA Champions League face-off. Moments after netting a stunner, Vinicius alleged racial abuse and was vehemently backed by Real Madrid teammate Kylian Mbappe, who said Prestianni “doesn’t deserve to play this competition”. The 20-year-old Benfica forward retorted by claiming the Brazilian “misinterpreted what he thinks he heard”, and was eventually handed a six-match ban for homophobic remarks instead. FIFA later extended the ban globally, which meant Prestianni would have missed Argentina’s first two World Cup games had he been picked in the squad. Racism and homophobia lie in the same offence category under Article 14 of UEFA’s disciplinary regulations, and the striker’s mouth-shielding with his jersey …
