Is Obsession getting more shows impacting Main Vaapas Aaunga, Bandar and other Hindi releases? Trade experts weigh in

The success of the Hollywood horror film Obsession has become a case study in world cinema, but in India, it has had an adverse effect on Hindi films. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recently called out how theatre chains have been giving more shows to Obsession over Hindi releases, including his film Bandar and films releases the past Friday – Main Vaapas Aaunga, Governor and others. Obsession is running with more shows than new Hindi releases like Main Vaapas Aaunga We spoke to trade experts on how this move impacts Hindi film industry and the business at the box office, and the consensus is that it boils down to what the audience wants. Trade analyst Komal Nahta says, “Nothing is coming in the industry except bad content. If Anurag Kashyap thinks it is because of Obsession that Bandar is not doing well, he should see the collections. Bandar is not doing well even otherwise, so the number of shows isn’t going to make a difference. Critical acclaim is not the same as the box office, and when …

In shooting, where success depends on precision, calm and fine motor control, weather can quietly become the biggest opponent. At one level, the impact is uneven. Ten-metre events are conducted indoors, so the effects are limited. But in outdoor disciplines like 25 and 50 metres, conditions play a decisive role. Under the executive orders signed on February 1st, Canada and Mexico will face a 25 percent tariff, while goods from China will be subject to a 10 percent tax. Energy resources from Canada will also have a lower 10 percent tariff. Trump positioned the tariffs as a way to “halt the flood of poisonous drugs into the United States,” referring to fentanyl. The change will have a big impact on the cost of a wide variety of goods imported from each country, including electronics, produce, clothing, and much more. Though Trump previously said the tariffs will “enrich” citizens, consumers are expected to bear the brunt of the fees as they typically lead to higher prices. Trump’s first 100 days: all the news impacting the tech industry

“There is no `EV mandate,’” Harris said in a statement, “but Trump’s move to repeal existing standards and federal investments would be a huge blow to the U.S. auto industry – and bad news for American drivers. Fat-cat oil executives are the only ones cracking open the champagne about this one. “Still, this is not the end of this story. The administration will need to follow the facts and the law in making any changes to the electric vehicle incentives or the federal vehicle standards and state waivers. Our lawyers are watching. If the administration tries to cut corners or ignore the law, they will end up in court.” Disclaimer: We do not own any of the content, ideas, images, or text presented here.
