R Ashwin explains why CSK’s Urvil Patel played the ‘most important innings of IPL 2026’

3 min readUpdated: May 11, 2026 02:46 PM IST Former India all-rounder R Ashwin heaped praise on Urvil Patel’s scintillating fifty that helped Chennai Super Kings break a long-standing duck in the IPL in their 204-run chase against the Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday evening. The five-time champions CSK were set with the daunting target at the MA Chidambaram Stadium at a crucial point in their campaign, particularly stiffened by their poor chasing record. Since 2019, CSK had never successfully chased down a 180-plus target in the IPL. While the contest against Lucknow stretched nervously to a last-over win, Urvil’s stunning 13-ball half-century had catapulted Chennai to a blistering start. The Gujarat batter smashed five sixes in succession as he romped to the joint-fastest fifty in IPL history, sharing the record with Yashasvi Jaiswal. Ashwin went onto label Urvil’s knock as the most important knock of the season so far. ‘Not only important in gym… also on pitch’

3 min readUpdated: May 9, 2026 03:24 PM IST Harmony has not been the keyword at Liverpool Football Club this season. After winning last season, things have fallen apart for the Reds both on and off the pitch. Star player Mohamed Salah has announced he will move on from the club at the end of the season, and his rift with manager Arne Slot this season has been well documented. However, although Salah has said he will leave, he has continued to raise concerns about team culture and more recently, he spoke about gym culture. “I told them when I leave, you need an example here. You need people to come early to the gym and people look at them: ‘Oh he goes to the gym, so I need to go.’ If that doesn’t happen, I think it will be tricky for this club because it’s something very, very necessary. You put the standard high, like people have to come early. People have to go gym,” Salah said. Defender Virgil van Dijk supported Salah’s comments …

Nicobar is too important to get wrong

Nicobar is too important to get wrong

With the Great Nicobar project moving through key clearances and drawing renewed scrutiny, India’s long-standing dependence on foreign trans-shipment hubs has finally forced a strategic rethink. For decades, a country of India’s trade volume has routed nearly three-fourths of its cargo through ports such as Colombo, Singapore and Port Klang, absorbing higher costs and strategic vulnerability in the process. Correcting that imbalance is no longer optional. It is overdue. Nicobar The proposed development of Great Nicobar—a trans-shipment port, an international airport and supporting infrastructure—is, at one level, a response to that reality. At another, it is a statement of intent. In an Indo-Pacific where infrastructure increasingly defines influence, India cannot afford to remain a peripheral player. The numbers make the gap clear. Singapore handles over 35 million TEUs annually; Colombo manages around 7–8 million. India, despite its scale, lacks a comparable trans-shipment hub. The proposed port at Great Nicobar, with a potential capacity exceeding 14 million TEUs, seeks to change that equation. More importantly, it seeks to do so at a location that matters—less than …

Caste is still important in Tamil Nadu, known as a ‘land of social justice’

Caste is still important in Tamil Nadu, known as a ‘land of social justice’

Image used for representational purposes. File | Photo Credit: Periasamy M. Tamil Nadu has generally been showcased as an egalitarian State that has been able to transcend the barrier of caste, thanks to the Dravidian movement. But, when it comes to elections, the factor of caste is extremely important, which the two Dravidian forces can ill afford to ignore.  According to the findings of a couple of studies on the caste profiles of candidates put up by the formations led by the DMK and the AIADMK, three communities  — Vanniyakula Kshatriya (Vanniyar), Mukkulathor (Thevars) and Kongu Vellalar (Gounders) —  take the lion’s share. Of the 188 general constituencies, about 45% of the DMK-led coalition’s candidates and around 55% of the AIADMK-led front’s candidates belong to these groups, up from 38% and 47% respectively five years ago. ‘It’s important he comes in as only a batter when he walks out to bat’

2 min readApr 14, 2026 05:16 PM IST Ruturaj Gaikwad has been the shining light for Chennai Super Kings with the bat in the last few seasons despite the side’s poor performance. However, the CSK skipper this season has looked a shadow of himself with the bat. Former Indian cricketer Sadagoppan Ramesh said there are too many things on the mind of Gaikwad. “Right now, too many things are running in his mind. It’s important he comes in as only a batter when he walks out to bat. Most captains can’t do that, though. When you bring the captain tag along while batting, too many things run through your head. He should talk to himself as a captain and ask himself to bat freely. If he also combines with Sanju, it’s one of the best pairs of the IPL,” said Ramesh on his YouTube channel. “Though he’s not scoring now, class is permanent. He has played some of the best knocks over the years. There was a match in Dubai when Bumrah ran through CSK …

USA’s most important nuclear attack bomber jets lose stealth shield amid Iran war? Big claim by…

Published on Apr 10, 2026 09:53 am IST China’s Jingan Technology claims its AI-driven “Jingqi” platform tracked U.S. B-2 Spirit aircraft during strikes on Iran, intercepting radio signals despite strict stealth protocols. The firm says it reconstructed flight paths and timelines during Operation Epic Fury, though detection occurred mainly during the return phase. The claim, supported by unverified “audio proof,” has sparked debate over whether stealth airpower is becoming more visible through signal intelligence and AI data fusion. Analysts caution it reflects evolving intelligence methods, not a proven failure of U.S. air dominance or stealth technology.   Home / Videos / World News / USA’s most important nuclear attack bomber jets lose stealth shield amid Iran war? Parliament to be adjourned, reconvened for ‘very important bill’ soon: Rijiju| India News

The government said on Thursday that Parliament will be adjourned and reconvened before the end of this round of assembly elections. Kiren Rijiju says Parliament will reconvene soon for a “very important” bill, with speculation around women’s reservation legislation ahead of polls. (Sansad TV/ANI Video Grab) Parliamentary affairs minister Kiren Rijiju told Rajya Sabha that Parliament will be adjourned and reconvened to discuss a “very important” bill, without giving the details of the bill or the dates for the extended budget session. Rijiju said, “We have certain important issues, we have shared this with the Opposition also. We are going to have a very important bill in the next 2-3 weeks”. There is speculation that the House will go into a recess and reconvene after April 15 for a short duration during which the government will introduce and pass the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, the Constitution (One Hundred and Sixth Amendment) Act, also known as the women’s reservation bill that seeks to reserve 33% seats for women in the Lok Sabha and state legislatures. Both exams are for Class 10 students, and the application process has begun online on the official website at exam.biharboardonline.org. The purpose of the BSEB Madhyamik Compartmental exam 2026 is to provide students who have failed in one or two subjects in the main board examination an opportunity to clear those subjects without losing an academic year. In contrast, the Madhyamik Vishesh Pariksha or Special exam 2026 is conducted for students who were unable to appear in the main examination due to valid and exceptional reasons — such as medical emergencies or participation in recognised events. However, candidates from the 2023–24 batch are allowed to appear only in one subject, which is English. The compartmental exam is for students who were placed in the compartment category in the 2026 board exams. Students from vocational streams such as …
