Injured Rohit Sharma progressing well, a call on inclusion for CSK game on Saturday, says Mahela Jayawardene | Cricket News

3 min readMay 1, 2026 08:05 PM IST With every game from now on being a must-win situation that would put them back into the contention for play-offs, Mumbai Indians head coach Mahela Jayawardene has said this is not the time to experiment. With just two wins from 8 matches, the five-time champions are ninth in the points table and face Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk on Saturday. Thanks to injuries and in attempts to arrest the slide, Mumbai have so far used as many as 22 players in the first-half of the season. For a team, which has in the past relied on a settled squad, it has been a merry-go-round of sorts in search of a winning combination. “It’s not the time for us to experiment,” Jayawardene said. “We’ve had issues with our injuries, and availability of players and all that. We’ve already played, I think, 20 players in the season. So we’ve not done that for many years. Our maximum has been 16, even with the impact where we’ve had 16 or …

On Friday (April 17), the Constitution (One Hundred and Thirty-First Amendment) Bill, 2026, for delimitation and the subsequent application of 33% women’s reservation in the legislature was defeated in Lok Sabha. The Opposition primarily criticised it over the delimitation process and its advancement by the government. The Constitution (Seventy-third Amendment) Act, 1992 and The Constitution (Seventy-fourth Amendment) Act, 1992 took effect in 1993. They reserved 33% of the seats for women in Panchayati Raj institutions and urban local bodies, respectively. What prompted these Acts then, and what was the nature of political debates at the time? Here is a brief history. From committees, to states, to country First, it is important to understand the significance of the 73rd and 74th Constitutional amendments. Before these Acts, India’s Constitution …

Culture Minister Alessandro Giuli is trying to manage the diplomatic fallout, voicing clear opposition to the Biennale’s decision but acknowledging that its governing foundation is independent of the government and acted autonomously when it included Russia in the line-up for its 61st arts festival. Dera Sach Khand Ballan is not only a religious institution but also a symbol of the fulfilment of the vision of Babasaheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, who envisaged an Indian society providing equal opportunities for all, including those from backward classes. For decades, the followers and devotees of the Dera and the Ravidassia community have been an integral part of Punjab’s social and cultural heritage. The …
