Noting that the India-France partnership has been evolving since 1998 and has now moved to “people-to-people” connect, Jean-Marc Sere-Charlet, Consul General of France in Mumbai, said on Thursday that besides the existing partnerships in defence and space sectors, the possible new areas of India-France partnerships include clean and sustainable energy and artificial intelligence, which are “absolutely key for both countries”. He also said that France is looking to attract Indian students even as French academic institutions are exploring India as a possible destination for setting up their campuses. “We have got many things to do in trade and are working in the Indo-Pacific field to ensure free transportation without pressure from any country,” Sere-Charlet said at Hutheesing Visual Arts Centre on Thursday.
