The MoS further said India’s relationship with Bangladesh is “independent of its relationship with third countries”. India keeps a close watch on developments that affect its national interests and takes all necessary steps to protect them, the government told Parliament on Friday. Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha, said India supports a democratic, stable, peaceful, progressive, and inclusive Bangladesh, and this has been communicated to the interim government in all relevant meetings.
