Expressing deep concern over the state of affairs, the parliamentary committee has given 15 days to the ministry of civil aviation to respond to questions posed by its members. Citing the ongoing investigation into the matter, the ministry has sought time to respond to the queries. IndiGo emerges India’s largest international airline amid flight crisis at home| Business News

IndiGo has emerged as India’s largest international airline in terms of air traffic amid a flights crisis that’s scuppered its domestic operations. IndiGo has emerged as India’s No.1 international airline because Air India has reduced its international flights following the plane crash in Ahmedabad in June 2025. (HT) The airline operated by InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. carried 41.36 lakh passengers to and from India in July-September 2025, according to data on the website of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. In comparision, Air India and Air India Express together had an international traffic of 40.99 lakh. The rankings have flipped since Air India has reduced number of international flights following a plane crash in June killed all but one passengers on board. That created a gap, which IndiGo quickly filled in by increasing flights on key international routes. On 12 June, Air India’s AI 171 flight from Ahmedabad to London crashed soon after takeoff, claiming 260 lives, including 229 passengers, 12 crew members, and 19 people on the ground. IndiGo flight crisis: Delhi HC refuses to entertain PIL seeking increased compensation to passengers

A bench of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela said it has already taken cognisance of the issue in another public interest litigation (PIL) and granted liberty to the petitioner to seek intervention in the pending petition. “We don’t see any reason as to why the concerns raised here cannot be taken up in the earlier petition.
