Ms. Banerjee said that it was a planned incident where two or three persons were involved, and added that she would expose this before the media soon. “You can abuse me, this does not affect me. But why should I face criticism because of a few who were involved in riots,” she said. The communal violence in Murshidabad on April 11 and 12 claimed three lives and left hundreds of people homeless. Those who have indulged in corruption in the recruitment scam are sinners, said Firhad Hakim. Kolkata: Senior West Bengal minister Firhad Hakim on Monday claimed that some leaders of the Triinamool Congress have indulged in corruption, and it does not mean the entire party is corrupt. Mr Hakim, an influential leader who holds multiple posts in the administration and is considered close to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, said that the leaders who take money for “giving” jobs to people should rather “eat the flesh of their mothers”. (File) New Delhi: Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Friday accused the Congress of indulging in politics of lies on the issue of farmers and adopting double standards on farm laws. While replying to Congress leader Deepender Singh Hooda’s question on the promised minimum support of price for farmers after their agitation last year, Mr Tomar said in the Rajya Sabha that a committee has been formed to consider the proposal. “The committee is considering it (MSP). The farmers’ representative in that committee is a representative of the farmers’ union. Tarnishing farmers’ union is utterly wrong,” Mr Tomar said.
