Kalyan Banerjee But, as gleefully shared by the Bharatiya Janata Party’s spokesperson and also chief of its IT Cell, Amit Malviya, it ended up becoming a slanging match between the TMC’s lawmakers, one that continued well into Friday night on a WhatsApp group of the party’s MPs. Then, on Tuesday, two senior parliamentarians of the party spoke to the press, blaming each other and confirming that tensions were simmering within the parliamentary contingent of Bengal’s ruling party. The TMC called the spat “demoralising”. The purported chats feature angry exchanges between Serampore MP Kalyan Banerjee and Bardhaman-Durgapur MP Kirti Azad, with the former saying the latter was”thrown out of the BJP” for “internal politics” and the latter asking the former not to act like “a juvenile …

In Rajasthan, BJP mandal polls hang fire amid infighting, delay state chief selection | Political Pulse News

The BJP’s ongoing organisational polls have been delayed in the party-ruled Rajasthan, where the elections of one-third of the mandal presidents have still not taken place due to tussle between various party factions to get their nominees chosen. This has made a cascading impact on the elections of the BJP’s district committee chiefs and that of the state party chief as they have also got delayed. According to the BJP’s constitution, the state party chief can only be elected after at least 50% of the district presidents are named. Similarly, the district president can be elected only following the appointment of at least 50% of the mandal presidents. BJP sources said the party leadership has now directed its Rajasthan unit to complete the process of naming all mandal chiefs to be followed by the appointment of the district presidents. The election of the state party president was to take place on 30 December last year with the mandal and district committees supposed to be in place by November 30 and December 15 respectively, as per …

PT Usha says in talks on with IOC for 2036 Olympics: ‘Held meeting on Monday’ | Sport-others News

The ongoing administrative logjam owing to the infighting at the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) might have stalled the country’s bid for the 2036 Olympic but the organisation’s president, PT Usha, asserted the current situation would not affect the “Prime Minister’s vision” to host the Games. Usha, in a media interaction on Tuesday, spoke on a range of contentious issues — from the bid to the CAG report that has alleged a potential Rs 24 crore loss for the IOA and the tug of war over the appointment of the CEO. She claimed the talks with the International Olympic Committee’s future host commission is on track. “We spoke to the host committee just yesterday (Monday) and the CEO connected from Mumbai. So the talks are on. This situation won’t affect the bid. Obviously, the infighting cannot continue without a solution. There will be an end to this situation soon,” Usha said. The athletics legend has had a rocky start to her administrative stint as the president of the IOA with Executive Committee members calling publicly questioning …

Talks with IOC over 2036 Olympic bid stalled due to infighting in IOA over CEO appointment | Sport-others News

In October 2023, in front of International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Thomas Bach and hundreds of other delegates, Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally declared India’s willingness to stage the 2036 Olympics, saying the country would leave ‘no stone unturned’ to win the hosting rights. A year later, talks between India’s sports administrators and IOC officials have ‘completely stalled’. The reason, according to a letter dated October 3, is the unrelenting infighting among Indian Olympic Association (IOA) officials over the appointment of the Chief Executive Officer. IOA president PT Usha alluded to the issue in her letter to the members on Thursday, calling for a Special General Meeting on October 25, saying the prevailing situation ‘has the potential to cause significant disruption’ to India’s ambitions to host the Games. IOA chief PT Usha has slammed its EC members in a scathing letter addressed to the IOC Director of International Relations. (FILE photo) Another senior official, requesting anonymity, admitted that there has been no communication between the IOC and Indian authorities regarding the 2036 bid since the …

‘Stage set for BJP hat-trick in Haryana’: PM flags Cong ‘infighting’ at Kurukshetra rally | Political Pulse News

Addressing his first rally in Haryana on Saturday ahead of the October 5 Assembly polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the people of the state to elect a BJP government for the third consecutive time. In Kurukshetra, which was a key hub of the farmers’ protests against the now-scrapped central farm laws during 2020-21, the PM highlighted the farmer-centric policies of the BJP-led governments in Haryana and at the Centre. Expressing confidence about the BJP’s victory in the polls, Modi said: “My Parliament colleague (Kurukshetra MP) Naveen (Jindal) ji was telling me that I should look at Haryana’s 50-year history. There is a uniqueness – whichever government exists in Delhi, Haryana also forms the same government in the state… The kind of enthusiasm I am witnessing here – my political experience tells me that Haryana has decided to ensure a hat-trick of the BJP here.” Modi also took aim at the Opposition Congress and the factionalism within the party. “First, the Congress should take care of its internal Mahabharat (infighting). The manner in which the …

Amid infighting in Israel, can Netanyahu carry on with his war policy in Gaza?

Written by Khnivraj Jangid  Israel is sinking in the quicksand of the Middle East — the war in Gaza seems to be going nowhere, the hostage deal looks unlikely, Iran-Hezbollah-Houthis are abrasive, there is growing international condemnation and isolation, and long-time allies are turning tired. Such external challenges have been part and parcel of Israeli politics, foreign policy and society for decades. There is now a far more dangerous and unmanageable threat from within: The army and government are at odds when it comes to the ongoing Gaza war. Yoav Gallant, the defence minister, is candidly speaking against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for abandoning the hostages, constantly shifting the goalposts of the war, and not making a political decision about what will come after Hamas in Gaza. Gallant and other security agency heads of Israel no longer hide their lack of faith in the Netanyahu government when it comes to the hostage deal. There is another immediate cause for more significant concern against the current government and its policies in the West Bank. There, the army …
