Why did Maternal Instinct’s director refuse to interview Taylor Parker? ‘Felt disrespectful’

Why did Maternal Instinct’s director refuse to interview Taylor Parker? ‘Felt disrespectful’

Jessica Dimmock, the director of Netflix’s hit documentary Maternal Instinct, recently revealed why the production chose not to interview Taylor Parker, the woman convicted of murdering pregnant Reagan Simmons Hancock in 2020. Maternal Instinct director Jessica Dimmock explained why Taylor Parker was not interviewed for the Netflix documentary. (X/@KUDALINGAM49671) “We decided not to interview Taylor,” Dimmock told Oxygen in an interview published on June 18. “Obviously, Reagan and her family are the most severe and the biggest victims in this, but [there are] other people that she deceived, other people that she hurt along the way, coworkers, former friends.” She added, “It just felt like it really needed to be told from their perspective.” Instead, the documentary used stitched-together pieces of Parker’s life, including text messages and videos, along with interviews with Hancock’s family members and Parker’s ex-boyfriend Wade Griffin, to tell her story without giving her control over how her victims were portrayed. Dimmock explained her reasoning further, saying, “It felt like, you know, I think as a director, ‘What is she going to …

How a team built on Test-match instincts is dismantling the IPL’s T20 template

How a team built on Test-match instincts is dismantling the IPL’s T20 template

When Gujarat Titans ran a torrid run in the first half of the season, winning only three of seven games, they were everything a modern T20 outfit should not be. The openers were not radicalised to hit the first ball out of the park; muscled batsmen did not pack the middle order; barring an erratic Jos Buttler none provoked fear; the bowling lacked beguiling trickery, the tactics seemed staid and the game was without the thrills and theatrics of the format. Nothing has changed. Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill bat with methodical rather than mad aggression; Buttler has been inconsistent; the humbler stock of Washington Sundar, Nishant Sindhu and Jason Holder comprise the middle order; Kagiso Rabada and his sidekicks predominantly deal in Test-match lengths; and they have hit the second-fewest sixes in the tournament. Yet, in a glorious paradox, they are where every side wants to be. Among the top two, effectively in the play-offs, and title frontrunners with a favourable draw on surfaces that could maximise their gifts. We have a new table …

Reminders of Him EXCLUSIVE: Tyriq Withers Reacts to Having Colleen Hoover on Set, ‘Allows You to Trust Instincts’

Reminders of Him is the upcoming film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s book of the same name. Starring Maika Monroe and Tyriq Withers in the main roles, it has been directed by Vanessa Caswill alongside a screenplay by the author and Lauren Levine. Talking exclusively to Pinkvilla, the novelist previously shared how the casting of the male lead came to her from the get-go, as she came across her Ledger Ward easily.  Colleen Hoover was looking for an actor with the right physical fit and the correct mindset to accompany him as he would embody an emotionally complex Ledger Ward. Tyriq Withers’ previous projects gave him the edge to become that and more, immersing himself in the role completely. Speaking exclusively to Pinkvilla about what it was like to play the character, he said that it allowed him to reflect on his life’s experiences and develop a deeper understanding of love, loss, and healing. Tyriq Withers shares what it was like to have Reminders of Him author Colleen Hoover with them during filming Having the opportunity …

‘This isn’t gully cricket’: Rohit Sharma on why he wants Kuldeep Yadav to stop appealing on every ball and trust wicketkeeper’s instincts | Cricket News

‘This isn’t gully cricket’: Rohit Sharma on why he wants Kuldeep Yadav to stop appealing on every ball and trust wicketkeeper’s instincts | Cricket News

Around a month ago, a video went viral during South Africa’s tour of India where in a match in the ODI series, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli engaged in banter with spinner Kuldeep Yadav due to his relentless appealing. In a recent interaction, Rohit had an advice for Kuldeep ahead of the T20 World Cup- to stop with the incessant appeals on every ball and trust the wicketkeeper’s judgments. “My one simple advice to Kuldeep is to just bowl quietly and go back to his mark. You can’t appeal on every ball. This is basic. I keep saying it, but it still happens often. Even after telling him many times, he appeals at every chance. You have to use your head. Where did the ball hit? Just because it touches the pad, it doesn’t mean it’s out every time. This isn’t gully cricket,” Rohit said in JioHotstar’s ‘Captain Rohit Sharma’s Roadmap for the T20 World Cup’ show. “I get he is enthusiastic, but think of the team first. Each team only gets two DRS reviews. …

Ananya on believing in her instincts: ‘The pressure doesn’t paralyse me anymore`

Ananya on believing in her instincts: ‘The pressure doesn’t paralyse me anymore`

At a time when most films disappear from theatres within a week, Kesari Chapter 2 has been enjoying a steady run for almost three weeks. When we get on a call with Ananya Panday, she attributes it to the powerful story that is at the centre of Karan Singh Tyagi’s directorial venture. “I had studied about the Jallianwala Bagh [massacre] in school, as did everyone. But I didn’t know the extent of the details I learned while being a part of this film. I wanted to help tell this chapter of history,” she says of the period drama that offers a fictionalised version of C Sankaran Nair’s legal battle against the British Empire after the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. In the Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan-starrer, Panday plays Dilreet Gill, a young lawyer who becomes the protagonist’s aide. Dilreet and she may be a century apart, but the actor says they have a trait in common — steely resolve. “I could connect with Dilreet’s strong resolve. I have a lot of fire in me, but …

Samuel L. Jackson Clashed With Quentin Tarantino Over Jules’ Wig In Pulp Fiction & Proved His Instincts Right

Samuel L. Jackson Clashed With Quentin Tarantino Over Jules’ Wig In Pulp Fiction & Proved His Instincts Right

Samuel L. Jackson Wig Clash(Photo Credit –Facebook) Samuel L. Jackson never backed down from making bold choices, especially when it came to his look. In Pulp Fiction, his character, Jules Winnfield, became instantly recognizable with his jheri curl wig. But getting that hairstyle on screen wasn’t easy. Jackson had to fight Quentin Tarantino for it. Jackson always saw his appearance as part of his craft. Early in his career, he made a conscious effort to change up his look for every role. For Pulp Fiction, he had a vision for Jules’ hair – one that Tarantino didn’t share at first. “It was my deliberate choice to be as different as I possibly could in as many films as I could,” Jackson told Gentleman’s Journal. “So I made my face and my hair and my beard my canvas. It was my idea for the wig in Pulp Fiction. Quentin [Tarantino] had actually sent a girl to South Central to buy an afro wig ’cause he was referencing Blaxploitation. But she came back with this jheri curl …

When Margot Robbie Once Said This ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ Shot Is Worse Than Sharon Stone’s ‘Basic Instinct’s’ Scene

Margot Robbie Cut Scene (Photo Credit – Instagram) Margot Robbie’s breakthrough in The Wolf of Wall Street had plenty of whoa moments. But there was one scene so intense that even Robbie thought it went too far. And when she compared it to Basic Instinct’s most infamous moment? She said it was “10 times worse.” Thankfully, Martin Scorsese cut most of it, but Robbie had mixed feelings. So, what made this scene so extreme? Let’s break it down. The Wolf of Wall Street Audition That Made Margot Robbie Sweat Margot Robbie had to go full Naomi Lapaglia mode from day one for The Wolf of Wall Street. But the one scene that truly pushed boundaries was the infamous nursery scene. It was the one where Naomi Lapaglia (Robbie) teased Jordan Belfort (Leonardo DiCaprio) in their baby’s room. It’s already iconic, but what we didn’t see might’ve been even more outlandish. Robbie told The Daily Beast: “[I auditioned with] some of the hardest scenes in the film. It was the throwing-water fight scene, the ‘What’s wrong, …
