INS Tarkash arrives in Seychelles on strategic maritime coopera

Indian Naval Ship (INS) Tarkash, a stealth frigate of the Indian Navy, arrived at Port Victoria in Seychelles on 12 June 2026 as part of its ongoing operational deployment in the South West Indian Ocean Region. The visit reflects the strong maritime partnership between India and Seychelles and highlights the growing cooperation between the two countries in the field of maritime security and defence. During its deployment, INS Tarkash escorted Seychelles Coast Guard vessel PS Zoroaster from India to Seychelles after the ship completed a refit at Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) in Kolkata. The successful transit demonstrated close coordination and interoperability between the Indian Navy and the Seychelles Coast Guard in addressing shared maritime challenges in the Indian Ocean Region. According to a statement from the British High Commission, the decision in this regard was taken at the 19th UK-India Air Staff Talks in New Delhi on Thursday, where both countries have agreed to further enhance military training engagements. Under the latest agreement, the Indian Air Force (IAF) will deploy three Qualified Flight Instructors (QFI) to Royal Air Force (RAF) Valley – the training base for British fast jet pilots, the statement noted. “This marks the first time that Indian QFIs will impart fast jet training to British pilots at RAF Valley. The deployment will initially be for a period of two years,” it added. IAF instructors will be deployed in RAF Valley to instruct on the BAE Hawk T2 or Texan T1 aircraft. The Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) has signed an MoU with Chainlink to enhance Web3 awareness and explore advanced blockchain use cases. Announced on March 24, the partnership marks ADGM’s deeper engagement with Web3 solutions, focusing on cross-chain interoperability and tokenised asset utility. Chainlink will contribute its technical expertise and industry insights to support the research. Based on their findings, both entities plan to propose regulatory frameworks for blockchain adoption. ADGM, an international financial center in Abu Dhabi, introduced a virtual asset regulatory framework in 2018 and is now home to over 2,000 companies. Meanwhile, Chainlink is a decentralised oracle network that connects smart contracts with off-chain data. As part of the partnership, Chainlink has committed to providing its advanced suite of services to enhance the utility of tokenized assets while ensuring compliance, ADGM stated in its announcement. WhatsApp Third-Party Chats Feature That Will Allow Sending Messages to Other Apps Will Soon Be Rolled Out

WhatsApp will soon start supporting third-party chats allowing users to send and receive messages. The announcement was made by the instant messaging platform’s parent company Meta last week. The company said the decision to make the app interoperable was made after the European Union brought the Digital Markets Act (DMA) into force in 2022. Earlier, Meta asked for an extension highlighting complications in ensuring end-to-end encryption with third-party apps. However, it now says that those issues have been worked out and WhatsApp is ready to roll out the feature for users. WhatsApp to Introduce Third-Party Chats In a newsroom post, Meta highlighted that the company took an additional six months to build the technicalities for an interoperable feature that allows users to interact with users on separate messaging apps. Google Brings Matter Support to Android Devices, Nest Home Products for Smart Device Interoperability

Google has announced that its Android, Google Nest, and Google Home devices will, starting today, be interoperable with smart ecosystems from other brands. This has been made possible by the search giant through support for the Matter protocol on the aforementioned devices. Matter is an open-source, royalty-free, next-generation unifying protocol for smart home device connectivity developed by the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA). The alliance, first conceived in 2019 has around 300 companies onboard including major players Apple, Samsung, Amazon, and Huawei. According to an official blog post from the search giant, Google Nest and Android devices, have been automatically updated to with support for the Matter protocol. The list of devices that are already Matter-enabled, as of today, include Google Home devices like the Google Home Smart Speaker, Google Home Mini Smart Speaker. Google Nest devices like the Google Nest Mini, Google Nest Audio, Google Nest Hub, Google Nest Hub (2nd gen), Nest Hub Max, and the Nest Wifi Pro also get support for Matter, as per the company.
