The National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) has set up an expert committee on invasive alien species following directions from the National Green Tribunal (NGT), officials said. The move comes amid concerns over threats posed by foreign species to biodiversity, agriculture, food security, and human and wildlife health. It will also draft national guidelines for prevention, control, and eradication, while identifying research gaps and promoting data generation.
