The Central Bureau of Investigation, in coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Union Home Ministry, facilitated the extradition. The agency alleged that Singh, alias Shera, was a mastermind in a major Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM) terror-financing case. He was brought to Delhi and taken into custody by the NIA.
