Recalling his preparation process, Nawazuddin reveals that he isolated himself in Lonavala just days before filming began. “Three days before we went on the floors, I took the script of the film and went to Lonavala to get into the skin of the character. IndianOil says fuel supply remains adequate; shortages limited to isolated areas

Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IndianOil) on Saturday said there is no overall shortage of petrol or diesel across the country, even as some fuel stations in certain areas reported temporary supply disruptions. The state-run oil marketing company clarified that the issues being witnessed at select retail outlets are localised and short-term in nature, and that fuel stocks across most parts of the country remain stable. IndianOil says disruptions caused by local demand-supply imbalance In an official statement, IndianOil said the temporary supply pressure at some outlets was due to local demand-supply imbalances and shifting customer patterns in certain regions. The company stated that a seasonal increase in diesel demand during the harvesting period has led to higher fuel consumption in several areas. It also pointed to a temporary shift in customers from private fuel pumps to public sector outlets because of comparatively higher retail prices at some private stations. According to the company, institutional and commercial buyers have also increasingly turned to public sector fuel stations as bulk fuel supplies are currently priced higher in …

Nasscom calls TCS Nashik case ‘isolated’; Infosys denies Pune harassment claims

NASSCOM on Tuesday said the sexual harassment case at TCS’s Nashik facility is an isolated incident and does not indicate any systemic issue in the Indian IT industry, amid a wave of social media claims alleging similar workplace concerns. In a statement, Nasscom said, “Any instance of misconduct or harassment in the technology sector is treated with the utmost seriousness, with companies taking swift and appropriate disciplinary action in line with established procedures.” “The Indian technology industry is built on a foundation of respect, dignity, and safety. The industry operates under strict governance frameworks and unequivocal standards for employee safety and workplace conduct,” it added. The industry body reiterated that employee safety remains a non-negotiable priority and that companies maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards inappropriate behaviour. It emphasised that isolated incidents should not be seen as indicative of broader systemic issues across the sector. The clarification comes after allegations by eight employees at the TCS Nashik unit, who claimed mental and sexual harassment by senior colleagues and alleged that the human resources department failed to …

This isolated under-construction building in Jharkhand village hosted a ‘Rs 20-crore fraud’ operation | India News

Around 75 km from Ranchi, along the road that leads to Jamshedpur, lies a Rargaon village, which can be reached through a narrow stretch from the national highway. Away from the inhabited part of the village, in a large and isolated plot of land, is a three-storey under-construction building that is purportedly being built to house a private nursing college. This was the building that the Jharkhand Police raided hours before the Jharkhand Excise Constable Competitive Examination (JECCE) took place, leading to the arrest of 166 people. Of these, 159 were job aspirants, and the others were allegedly linked to a “solver gang” that promised to teach candidates the answers to questions that they claimed would come up in the exam, police said. The exam, however, took place as scheduled on Sunday, with police and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) saying there was no paper leak and that the questions and answers the gang gave the aspirants did not match the exam question paper. When The Indian Express visited the building on Monday, construction …

The tomb of Lodi dynasty founder lies neglected in isolated lanes of Chirag Delhi

New Delhi The compound is in a dilapidated condition. (Arvind Yadav/HT Photo) Inside the lanes of Chirag Delhi, broken graves, new constructions enveloping the space and a hub of open drinking paint a picture of utter neglect of a monument protected by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI)—the tomb of Bahlol Lodhi or Buhlul Lodi, the founder of the Lodi dynasty. The only sign of the historical monument is a desolate ASI signboard at one corner of the compound. The tomb, located right behind the Chirag-e-Delhi dargah, has also turned into a dumping ground, with little to no sign of upkeep, HT found during a site visit on Thursday. Asif Khan Dehlvi of Delhi Karavaan, a platform that organises heritage walks across the city, said, “I am very well acquainted with the area and this was not the case a couple decades back. The locals used to respect the history of the place and the tomb used to share a common backdoor with the Chirag-e-Delhi dargah as well. But as time went by, the dargah …
