India’s Neeru Dhanda and Vivaan Kapoor combined to win the trap mixed team bronze medal at the 2026 ISSF Shotgun World Cup in Almaty, Kazakhstan on Sunday. Dhanda and Kapoor shot 24/30 to finish on the podium in the four-team final. Currently shooting Para sport is administered by World Shooting Para Sport, a department of the IPC. The agreement represents the first formal step towards unifying Olympic and Paralympic shooting sport. This aims to establish the ISSF as the single global authority for shooting sport, ensuring unified governance, harmonised standards, and coordinated development strategies. Promote a “One Family – Stronger Together” approach, fostering greater collaboration, shared pathways, and increased visibility for all athletes. Strengthen the position of the ISSF within the Olympic and Paralympic landscape, reinforcing its standing with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), IPC and within the broader international sports system. If there is one constant in the 50m 3P shooting event, it is the never-ending changes that the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) attempts to put onto the discipline. The latest though have earned the ire of Indian shooters and coaches who felt that the changes, made essentially for spectators, have disadvantaged the shooters. Forever known as the marathon of shooting, the 50m 3P event used to be a 120-shot event, which was then trimmed to 60 shots. Played over the three positions of kneeling, prone and standing, the event was one where India weren’t the strongest until the last few years. Now the country finds itself with possibly one of the strongest squads in the world, and capped off a period of growth when Swapnil Kusale picked up a bronze medal in the event at the Paris Olympics.
