Jacob Duffy Leads RCB’s Bowling Charge as GT Crumble in Chase

A brilliant spell from Jacob Duffy has triggered the Gujarat Titans’ batting collapse in the 255-run chase against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on May 26 at Dharamsala. He picked up three wickets in four overs, leaking 39 runs, causing a riot in Tuesday’s clash. After being invited to bat first, Virat Kohli and Venkatesh Iyer opened the innings while Mohammed Siraj opened the bowling attack. Despite a solid start from Iyer, he couldn’t convert the start as Kagiso Rabada bagged the wicket of the opener for 19 runs. He got dismissed on the back of a lengthy delivery where the batter swings the bat across the line, but got top-edged as the ball flew to mid off, and Shubman Gill picked a catch. Devdutt Padikkal, who came to bat at No. 3, joined Virat Kohli as the side scored 76 runs in the powerplay. The duo forged a 72-run partnership before Jason Holder picked the wicket of Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal in the same over. Viat Kohli got dismissed on a short of length …

RCB’s Jacob Bethell: ‘Watching Virat Kohli chase, you understand art of batting’ | Ipl News

3 min readMay 6, 2026 10:34 PM IST He hasn’t set the IPL on fire yet, but Jacob Bethell is quickly coming to terms about what it takes to flourish in the Indian Premier League. The 22-year-old has been highly regarded in England for some time and has even captained the national side but he burst onto the limelight big time with a hundred in the last Ashes Test in Sydney in January. Indian fans got to know him first-hand when he gave the home team a big scare with a century in the big chase in the T20 World Cup semifinal in Mumbai in March. Bethell has played just three matches for Royal Challengers Bengaluru this season with a grand total of 39 runs. But he has already earned something which he will cherish for a long time – watching Virat Kohli from up close and observing what makes the maestro tick, especially when he has a target to overhaul. “Watching Virat chase, you understand the art of batting, how to control a chase …

Alastair Cook has a go at Kevin Pietersen for asking Jacob Bethell to stay in IPL

Alastair Cook has a go at Kevin Pietersen for asking Jacob Bethell to stay in IPL

3 min readMay 6, 2026 07:22 PM IST Jacob Bethell finds himself in the middle of a spat between two of England’s greatest batters without actually uttering a word himself. And surprise, surprise! It’s got to do with the IPL. During the first few weeks of the tournament when the young England left-hander constantly sat on the bench for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, former captain Alastair Cook opined that Bethell would be better served by returning home and playing some county cricket to be in the best position to perform well for England when they play Test cricket next. Bethell famously scored a century in Sydney during the ill-fated Ashes tour. It’s the last Test the team has played. Never the favourite child of the English cricket establishment, Pietersen countered that Bethell would benefit by being around some of the best players in the world and learning from them, even if he was not playing. For good measure, he added that Cook has “absolutely no idea what it’s like to be in the IPL.” That was …

Candace Owens-Laura Loomer doxxing: Is Loomer’s fiance helping? ‘Andrew Jacob Simpson’ claim comes up

Conservative podcaster Candace Owens launched a scathing attack on far-right influencer Laura Loomer, after claiming that the latter had doxxed the former. Loomer, who has often been at odds with Owens, found ties worsening even more when the latter criticized President Donald Trump amid the Iran war. Loomer, who’s known for being a staunch Trump ally, put Owens squarely in her sights. Candace Owens claimed Laura Loomer’s fiance might be helping her doxx Owens and her family. (X/@LangmanVince, X/@JayTC53) In recent days, this attack has branched out to Owens’ husband George Farmer as well, who Loomer has accused of being in an accident. She also shared an alleged mugshot of Farmer and questioned whether Owens’ husband should be deported. Now, Owens, who’s somewhat of a firebrand herself on social media, has hit back. In the process, she seemingly revealed the identity of Loomer’s fiance. The far-right influencer had thus far taken great care to keep his name a secret so that he’d not get caught up in politics. However, with Loomer’s attacks being focused on …

Jos Buttler, Stuart Broad back Jacob Bethell in IPL after Alastair Cook criticism: ‘Times have changed’ | Cricket News

3 min readApr 30, 2026 06:42 PM IST England stars Jos Buttler and Stuart Broad have backed Jacob Bethell’s decision to remain with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL, arguing that the modern game has changed and that the youngster can still benefit enormously from being in the tournament even without regular game time. Bethell’s situation has sparked debate in England after former captain Alastair Cook suggested the left-hander would be better served returning home to play county cricket rather than staying on the bench in India. That stance was strongly challenged by Kevin Pietersen, who argued that critics underestimate the value of being part of an IPL setup. Pietersen said training alongside elite players, working with world-class coaches and learning in a high-pressure environment could be just as beneficial for a young cricketer as county appearances. Buttler sided firmly with that argument, saying those who have not experienced the IPL often fail to understand what it offers. “I think unless you’ve played in the IPL and been here and experienced it, it’s very difficult …
