No one can ban RSS, says Karnataka minister Satish Jarkiholi amid political row

Karnataka Minister for the Public Works Department Satish Jarkiholi on Monday said that no one can ban the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).​ Jarikholi further said that the Congress-led government in Karnataka has never stated that it would ban the RSS.​ He made the statement while speaking to the media at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru on Monday, in response to a challenge by former BJP MP Ananth Kumar Hegde that the Karnataka government lacks the capacity to ban the RSS.​ “They might issue statements, but officially, no one has banned it in the state. He told officials to start work on these units as soon as possible, during the quarterly progress review meeting of various departments in the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi on November 29. The Minister told officials to complete all works taken up under MP and MLA local areas development grant schemes. The district in-charge minister also told officials to properly maintain all relevant documents for the process. BJP leader and former Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi has denied that he is trying to bring ousted leader K.S. Eshwarappa back into the party. “I am not involved in any such effort. I am not a big leader to decide on such things. I do not have that authority. The party high command expelled Mr. Eshwarappa and it should decide on taking him back. I have not spoken to him about this issue,” Mr. Jarkiholi said. Eshwarappa and Ramesh Jarkiholi staying away from the winter session of the Karnataka legislature, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that he is in touch with them. “Their absence should not be seen as a boycott of the session,” the Chief Minister told reporters at Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi on December 20. He maintained that they are right in wanting to return to the Cabinet in the wake of both getting clearance with regard to the legal issues that caused their departure from the council of ministers. He had raised their issues with the BJP leadership during his recent visit to Delhi, and the central leaders had responded positively.
