Image Source : FILE PHOTO Representative image Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024: The Central Election Committee of Congress on Monday (October 21) released the list of 21 candidates for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections. The party has fielded Ajoy Kumar from Jamshedpur East, Irfan Ansari from Jamtara, Pradeep Yadav from Poreyahat, Jai Prakash Patel from Mandu, Banna Gupta from Jamshedpur West and Rameshwar Oraon from Lohardaga.  Check full list here: Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024 The elections will take place in two phases, on November 13 and November 20, with counting scheduled for November 23. Image Source : FILE PHOTO Representative image Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024: Former BJP MLAs Louis Marandi and Kunal Sarangi on Monday (October 21) joined the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), weeks ahead of the assembly elections in the state. The development also comes barely two days after three-term BJP legislator Kedar Hazra and AJSU Party’s Umakant Rajak joined the JMM. “We joined the JMM today,” Sarangi, the BJP’s former spokesperson and ex-Bahragora MLA, told news agency PTI. In 2014, Marandi, a former BJP legislator, defeated Chief Minister Hemant Soren by a margin of 5,262 votes in Dumka. However, in 2019, Soren won the seat by a margin of 13,188 votes but later vacated it to retain the Barhait constituency. In the subsequent by-election, Soren’s brother, Basant Soren, defeated Marandi by over 6,842 votes in Dumka, a party stronghold. In July, Sarangi resigned from the BJP’s primary membership, about a month and a half after stepping down as the Jharkhand unit spokesperson.  He sent his resignation to BJP state president Babulal Marandi, citing issues within the organization and concerns …

Babulal Marandi, Hemant Soren’s Ex Aide In BJP’s List Of 66 Candidates For Jharkhand Election

Veteran leader Babulal Marandi, a former chief minister, Champai Soren, Hemant Soren’s ex aide and also a former chief minister, are among 66 candidates named in BJP’s list of candidates for Jharkhand polls released on Saturday evening.   The announcement comes hours after Hemant Soren declared that the Congress and the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha or JMM will field candidates in 70 of the 81 assembly segments. The BJP is contesting on 68 seats. Image Source : PTI Jharkhand Election 2024: BJP seals deal with AJSU, JDU and Chirag Paswan, announces seat-sharing Jharkhand Assembly Election 2024: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has on Friday sealed a deal with All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Janata Dal-United (JDU), and Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Vilas (LJP-RV). As per the seat-sharing formula, the BJP will contest 68 seats, AJSU 10, JDU 2, and LJP-RV 1 in Jharkhand. Sudesh Mahto’s All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) is to contest on 10 seats, including Silli, Ramgarh, Gomia, Ichaghar, Mandu, Jugsalai, Dumri, Pakur, Lohardaga, and Manoharpur. While Nitish Kumar‘s Janata Dal-United (JDU) will contest two seats—Tamar and Jamshedpur East—the Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) will contest the Chatra Assembly seat.
