Not weapon shortage over Iran war, but fear of Xi Jinping behind US pausing Taiwan mega arms deal?

Published on May 27, 2026 09:35 pm IST As China–Taiwan tensions climb, Washington’s reported pause on a 14‑billion‑dollar arms package is raising hard questions about Trump’s real priorities. U.S. officials publicly blamed the Iran war, but experts told The Guardian that politics and Xi Jinping’s warning in Beijing are far likelier factors, with delivery timelines now drifting into the 2030s and Taiwan potentially left exposed.   Home / Videos / Not weapon shortage over Iran war, but fear of Xi Jinping behind US pausing Taiwan mega arms deal? Putin’s Iran gamble backed by Xi Jinping? China summit raises alarm over new power bloc formation

Published on May 20, 2026 11:45 pm IST Xi Jinping’s Beijing talks with Vladimir Putin, held days after President Trump’s visit, sparked questions over whether the two coordinated their approach to the Iran conflict as Xi publicly urged an end to Middle East hostilities. With a brittle Iran–U.S. ceasefire in place and oil prices spiking, Beijing’s mediation rhetoric contrasts with Tehran‑aligned figures quietly gaining diplomatic momentum.   Home / Videos / Putin’s Iran gamble backed by Xi Jinping? China’s Xi Jinping Ends 2024 With A Threat To Taiwan

China’s Xi Jinping Ends 2024 With A Threat To Taiwan

New Delhi: Chinese President Xi Jinping has ended the year with a threat over Taiwan, saying “no one can stop the reunification” with China. He said this while addressing the nation on New Year’s eve. Beijing has, for long, stated that the entire nation of Taiwan is part of China. It has also shown an overt and muscular posturing by carrying out air force and naval drills around the island nation. Beijing and Taipei represent two diametrically opposite ways of life. While Taiwan is a democracy, China is a communist country. In recent times, Beijing has intensified pressure on Taipei and has made all possible efforts to isolate the island nation from the rest of the world. China has also carried out three rounds of major military drills since Taiwan’s democratic election saw President Lai Ching-te come to power in May. Irked by the latest election, Beijing has said it will not renounce the use of force to bring Taiwan under its control. The last of these military drills, carried out earlier this month, was …

“Peace On Border Should Be Priority,” PM Modi Tells Xi Jinping In Russia

Kazan, Russia: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping met in Russia today for the first bilateral meeting since 2019. Ties between India and China had taken a severe hit since the military stand-off in Ladakh as a result of Beijing’s “unilateral” actions of violating the Line of Actual Control, the de-facto boundary between the two countries. The bilateral talks between PM Modi and Xi Jinping took place on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in the city of Kazan in Russia. It happened less than 72 hours after a breakthrough in talks – both at diplomatic and military levels – ensuring that the status quo returns to what it was before May 2020, when the stand off in Ladakh began with the military clash in Galwan. The breakthrough in the patrolling arrangement comes four years after the Galwan Valley clash and signals a move towards de-escalation in a region where both countries stationed tens of thousands of troops. The meeting underscored the upturn in the India-China relation following a consensus on patrolling …
