J&K: Two men arrested for allegedly raping woman in Baramulla

Two men have been arrested for allegedly raping a woman in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, as per the police officials. According to the woman’s complaint, she, along with a male friend, had gone for an outing to Jalsheeri Drangbal in Baramulla on July 25 when the two accused accosted them, as reported by IANS.  Jammu and Kashmir police identified the accused using technical evidences  A police official, while briefing about the case, said that the accused sexually assaulted the girl and also recorded a video of the assault. Jammu and Kashmir DGP Nalin Prabhat on Wednesday briefed Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha on the terrorist attack in Anantnag town in which one local policeman was killed.  DGP Prabhat, Special DGP Javid Mujtaba Gilani and IGP Kashmir V.K. Birdi reached Anantnag town to supervise the manhunt launched to trace the assailants. Jammu and Kashmir Police has booked several Army personnel, including a commanding officer, for allegedly storming a police station in Kishtwar district, assaulting police personnel, and damaging government property. The incident occurred after a police party intercepted and seized a private vehicle owned by an Army official for alleged traffic violations.
