News of his arrival had drawn a large crowd of supporters to the Jodhpur airport earlier in the day. After spending some time at the local ashram in Jodhpur, he visited AIIMS for a medical examination and later surrendered in the evening. The Jodhpur Bench of the High Court on Wednesday (May 27, 2026) dismissed Asaram’s appeal and revoked the interim bail, which was extended till July 7. At the time of the verdict, Asaram, who has been out on bail since October, was staying in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. As part of the preliminary inquiry, authorities are examining the structural condition and safety of the school building, officials said. According to locals, the school was constructed about five to six years ago after purchasing the land. The structure had been constructed by stacking cement bricks against a brick wall. He spent about an hour and a half in the hospital’s gastroenterology department before being escorted back to the prison. According to AIIMS sources, Mr. Wangchuk has been experiencing stomach-related issues and had visited the hospital on Friday (January 30, 2026) as well for tests. The Supreme Court, which is currently hearing a petition filed by his wife, has requested Mr. Wangchuk’s medical report by February 2. Following the Supreme Court’s orders, police transported Mr. Wangchuk from Jodhpur Central Jail to the emergency department of AIIMS Hospital on Saturday (January 31, 2026) morning, a police official said. Bluethroat from Alaska, Common Pochard from Siberia, Bar-headed Goose from Mongolia, and Grey-headed Lapwing from Northern China are among the birds already arrived at the wetland,” Singh told PTI.
