Mr. Kishor has been busy in the constituency, addressing nukkad (corner) meetings and going door to door to meet people. The byelection will be held on July 30, and the result will be out on August 3. The seat fell vacant after sitting BJP MLA Nitin Nabin was elected to the Rajya Sabha after being named as the party’s national president. Mr. Nabin had won five consecutive times from Bankipur, which has been a BJP stronghold. He submitted his nomination papers to Returning Officer R. Vanita Rani. Deputy Speaker K. Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra, MPs V. Balashowry and T. Uday Srinivas, MLC K. Pawan Kalyan on Monday asked party leaders to strongly counter what he described as false propaganda unleashed by the YSR Congress Party on the Tirupati laddu adulteration issue. He said the JSP could not afford to remain silent while the YSRCP claimed it had done nothing wrong despite the exposure by the Special Investigation Team. Former TDP MP (Rajya Sabha) Kanakamedala Ravindra and others submitting a letter to Chairman of National Human Rights Commission of India Justice Arun Kumar Mishra in New Delhi on Tuesday. The National Democratic Alliance parties, TDP-JSP-BJP lodged a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to direct the Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary K. S. Jawahar Reddy to make arrangements for delivering pension at doorsteps of beneficiaries by using 1.3 lakh staff of village and ward secretariats and other government staff without fail. Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday announced that Tangenalla Udaya Srinivas would be fielded from the Kakinada Lok Sabha constituency as JSP-TDP-BJP alliance candidate. Addressing the gathering of a group of locals of Pithapuram constituency during a meeting at Mangalagiri office, Mr. Kalyan said: “Our journey should begin from Pithapuram and end at Vijayawada via Machilipatnam.” Mr. Srinivas would be contesting against YSRCP candidate Chalamalasetty Sunil. On the contest in Pithapuram, Mr. Kalyan said that he would adopt Pithapuram that had been neglected so far by all the political parties.
