Mr. Kishor has been busy in the constituency, addressing nukkad (corner) meetings and going door to door to meet people. The byelection will be held on July 30, and the result will be out on August 3. The seat fell vacant after sitting BJP MLA Nitin Nabin was elected to the Rajya Sabha after being named as the party’s national president. Mr. Nabin had won five consecutive times from Bankipur, which has been a BJP stronghold. The National Democratic Alliance parties, TDP-JSP-BJP lodged a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to direct the Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary K. S. Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday announced that Tangenalla Udaya Srinivas would be fielded from the Kakinada Lok Sabha constituency as JSP-TDP-BJP alliance candidate. Addressing the gathering of a group of locals of Pithapuram constituency during a meeting at Mangalagiri office, Mr. Kalyan said: “Our journey should begin from Pithapuram and end at Vijayawada via Machilipatnam.” Mr. Srinivas would be contesting against YSRCP candidate Chalamalasetty Sunil.
