Parasakthi, starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role, was released in theatres on January 10, 2026, coinciding with Pongal this year. The historical drama has grossed a total of Rs 27 crore approx worldwide. With this total gross, the Sudha Kongara directorial has opened with solid numbers at the box office. In Tamil Nadu, the film has amassed Rs 12 crore, followed by Karnataka with Rs 1.8 crore. Accounting for collections across India, the movie has collected Rs 14.5 crore domestically. Meanwhile, overseas collections have also opened on a strong note. North America registered an estimated USD 350,000, while the Middle East contributed USD 340,000. The UK and Europe are reported to have collected USD 270,000. Additionally, with collections from Malaysia, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, and the rest of the world, the film has earned a total of USD 1.36M, which makes the total overseas collections approximately Rs 12.3 crore. The 18-year-old Kaamya Karthikeyan became the youngest Indian and the second youngest woman in the world to ski to the South Pole on Saturday. Kaamya, the daughter of an Indian naval officer, braved -30° weather as she covered nearly 115km kilometers on foot pulling a sled to achieve the feat. This is not the first time that Kaamya has etched her names in the record books. Last December, she had achieved the feat of becoming the youngest woman to scale the world’s seven highest peaks. She had conquered Mt Kilimanjaro in Africa, Mt Elbrus in Europe, Mt Kosciuszko in Australia, Mt Aconcagua in South America, Mt Denali in North America, Mt Everest in Asia, before ending her feat at Mt Vinson Massif at the age of 17. Kaamya, 17, achieved the feat when she successfully reached the summit of Vinson Massif – the highest mountain peak in Antarctica – on the Christmas day at 1:50 am IST. “It has been a truly merry holiday season,” Kaamya wrote in an Instagram post. “With this climb, I’ve become the youngest female mountaineer in the world to complete the Seven Summits Challenge by climbing the highest peak in all continents,” she added.
