Addressing a press conference in Kasaragod, he said it is natural for all political parties to expect support from every segment of the electorate. “Every candidate requires vote from all sections. Our contest is not based on religion. Support is sought by approaching everyone in a democratic manner,” he said. Responding to questions on the support of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Mr. Thangal said candidates generally expect all favourable votes and that such support should not be viewed as a specific political understanding.
