‘Strange how different teams have more pull than others’: South Africa’s Quinton de Kock, David Miller slam ICC | Cricket News

3 min readMar 8, 2026 11:52 AM IST South Africa cricketers Quinton de Kock and David Miller have lashed out at the International Cricket Council (ICC) for England leaving India before the Proteas or the West Indies despite being eliminated later from the T20 World Cup. The Iran War has complicated international travel with the global transit hub of Dubai being affected by the war. De Kock and Miller were angered by the fact that England players and staff left for home on Saturday evening via a direct charter flight to London. This was just two days after their exit from the T20 World Cup at the hands of India in the semi-final. Meanwhile, South Africa and West Indies, who were eliminated from the T20 World Cup before England are still in India. “Funny @icc, we have heard nothing! Meanwhile, England are leaving before us somehow? @westindies and @proteasmencsa are just in the dark! Strange how different teams have more pull than others,” De Kock wrote in a Story on his Instagram account. Miller, meanwhile, …

‘Before I got into the change room, I went looking around between…’: How Quinton de Kock hits his second T20I hundred with a borrowed bat against West Indies | Cricket News

4 min readJan 30, 2026 08:23 PM IST Heard of a batsman forgetting his kitbag containing bats and hating an international hundred with a bat borrowed from a team-mate? That’s what former South African captain Quinton de Kock did when he hit his second T20I hundred in the form of a 49-ball knock of 115 against West Indies in the second T20I at Centurion on Thursday. The 33-year-old had forgotten his kitbags at a hotel near the coast before he realised the mistake but with the flight time between the coast and Super Sport Park being more than two hours, de Kock had to borrow the bats. With South Africa winning the match by seven wickets, de Kock would speak about the mistake and how he looked around the kit bags in the dressing room and picked team-mate Brevis’ bat. “I felt a bit stupid when I noticed earlier. I have got some new bags over the last year, so I was going through all bits and bobs, and I just went blank. I don’t …

Sunrisers Eastern Cape drubbed Pretoria Capitals in a SA20 match(Screengrab – JioHotstar) The Capitals posted a healthy 176 for seven in 20 overs but Sunrisers strolled past the target in 14.2 overs as Bairstow (85 not out, 45 balls) and De Kock (79 not out, 41 balls) steamrolled the Capitals’ bowling attack here on Monday. Their highest ever chase, 177 for no loss, in the SA20, helped Sunrisers return to top of the table with 17 points. Player-of-the-match, De Kock started the chase with a flurry of boundaries in the Power Play, striking the ball sweetly over the cover region for a couple of sixes off Lungi Ngidi. The left-hander later dished out similar treatment to pacer Lizaad Williams as the Sunrisers took control. Bairstow was initially content to watch De Kock take on the Capitals’ bowlers, but he soon switched gears when Capitals spinner Keshav Maharaj brought himself on in search of the …

IND vs SA: Quinton de Kock dismantles Indian bowling combination with silent savagery | Cricket News

It was the joint-second-longest over ever bowled in T20 international cricket. It came in the 11th over of a nondescript match in the middle of a series between the previous World Cup finalists that are preparing for the next edition. It would prove quite instructive for both teams ahead of the marquee tournament. After a less-than-impressive spell with the new ball, Arshdeep Singh was brought back into the bowling and immediately saw his full-ish ball, at pace, picked up by Quinton de Kock, fly behind him for six. Seemingly rattled, he then proceeded to bowl seven wides, each of them to de Kock and six of them trying to deny him connection, with the wide-of-off-stump line. Part of it was due to the dew, typical of gripping the white ball under the lights in the colder months in North India, and part of it was due to an onslaught from de Kock that left India’s bowlers scrambling. The returning wrecking ball of South Africa with his phlegmatic face betraying no emotion, had scored 70 of …
