IMD forecasts heavy to extremely heavy rainfall for Maharashtra till July 7

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather warning for Maharashtra, forecasting intense rainfall activity across the state over the next week due to active monsoon systems. In a press release issued on Wednesday, the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Mumbai, said several weather systems are likely to trigger widespread rainfall, including heavy to very heavy spells, particularly over Konkan and the adjoining ghat regions of Madhya Maharashtra. Maharashtra continued to witness contrasting weather conditions on Monday, with active monsoon conditions prevailing across Mumbai, Konkan and parts of western Maharashtra, while several districts in Vidarbha remained under the grip of severe heatwave conditions despite isolated rainfall activity.
