Five persons have been arrested in connection with the deaths of a 30-year-old woman and her two minor sons in Kukatpally. The victims, Boda Shravanthi and her sons Karthik (12), and Koushik (10), were found dead at their residence in Raghavendra Colony on March 31. Following a complaint, Kukatpally police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Dowry Prohibition Act. The accused, identified as Merugu Sagar from Ameenpur in Sangareddy, was apprehended following an investigation into thefts reported at CMR and Malabar Gold shopping malls earlier this year. Police said the offences were reported on January 23 and February 2, when the accused posed as a customer and asked to be shown gold rings. While the sales staff were distracted, he allegedly replaced original rings with rolled gold imitations he had concealed in his shirt pocket, before leaving the stores unnoticed. Cases were registered at Kukatpally police station under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, while a related case was also booked at Punjagutta police station in connection with a similar offence. Chinese manja kills 5-year-old girl in Hyderabad’s Kukatpally

Banned Chinese manja claimed another life in Telangana, with a five-year-old girl becoming the latest victim in Hyderabad on Monday. The incident occurred in the Kukatpally area in Telangana when the girl was riding a motorcycle with her father and sister. According to police, the manja of a flying kite got entangled around her neck and caused a deep cut. Nishvika Aditya (5) died on the spot due to profuse bleeding. She was sitting in front of her father, who was driving the bike while her sister was riding pillion. They were coming to Kukatpally from Khajipalli in Medchal-Malkajgiri district. Police registered a case and took up the investigation. This is the second such incident in Telangana in less than two weeks. A 35-year-old man in Sangareddy district lost his life in a similar incident on January 14. Woman’s decomposed body found in Kukatpally; murder suspected

A woman’s unidentified body was discovered in a highly decomposed state amidst bushes in Kaithalapur village, Kukatpally, on Friday (February 15). According to Kukatpally police, the body is estimated to be at least a week old. Locals who found the remains immediately alerted authorities, leading to the registration of a murder case. Kukatpally Inspector M. Muthu said that the woman, aged between 40-45 years, was killed by a head injury. Her head was repeatedly attacked leading to heavy bleeding. A look-out notice has been issued to identify her and nab those involved in the murder. Four arrested for ₹24 crore investment scam targeting 120 investors

A gang of four persons was busted by the Cyberabad Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in a ₹24 crore investment scam that targeted 120 individuals across Hyderabad. Byra Chandra Shekar, Vemulapally Jahnvi and Garimella Venkata Akhil, all directors of Squares and Yards Infra Pvt Ltd., and Reddipalli Krishna Chaitanya, director of M/s Ad Avenues, were arrested following a complaint by Allam Nagaraju. According to the Cyberabad EOW DCP K. Prasad, the fraud was collectively executed by Squares and Yards Pvt Ltd and Ad Avenues Pvt Ltd from their office in Manjeera Trinity Corporate in Kukatpally, which was later shifted to Kavuri Hills in Jubilee Hills before closing down. “The accused lured the victims with their buy back scheme in which if an individual deposits ₹17 lakh, the company would pay ₹30,000 every month for 100 months and register two guntas (267 square yards) of agriculture land in Thirumalagiri village in Balanagar mandal of Mahabubnagar,” the official explained.
