While several big-budget films failed to make an impact, a small Gujarati film, Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate, produced on a modest budget of Rs 50 lakhs, went on to make history at the box office. The film earned Rs 120.58 crore worldwide, becoming the first Gujarati film ever to cross the 100 crore mark at the ticket window. However, the journey of Laalo to this milestone was far from smooth. Recently, actor Pratik Gandhi, while lauding the film, opened up about how it was made entirely by first-timers who had no idea if it would even see the light of day, let alone become a hit.
