(PTI File) The revelation has been made in a charge sheet filed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), which also offers proof of Pakistan’s involvement in the attack. It also said that the terrorists indulged in celebratory firing after the deadly killings. According to the charge sheet, the attack was planned by the Resistance Front (TRF)/Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Sajid Saiffullah Jatt, aka Langda, who shared the coordinates of the Baisaran meadow with the attackers. It also linked one of the terrorists involved to a terror strike on …

Unknown gunmen kill LeT commander, ISI-linked official in Pakistan

The hit jobs by unidentified gunmen continue to rock both the ISI and the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Pakistan. Unknown persons have killed a senior LeT commander as well as a low-level official linked to the ISI.  Those killed have been identified as Mir Shukr Khan Raisani and Mohammad Iqbal. The LeT has lost several top commanders in recent months thanks to hit jobs by the unidentified gunmen. Raisani was a top LeT commander and was killed at Quetta in Balochistan. Just a day before his killing, he had attended a major event organised by the LeT. He was handling operations for the LeT in Balochistan. Before this, he was involved in recruitment and training targeting Jammu and Kashmir, officials said. However, the killing that the Indian agencies are tracking closely is that of Mohammad Iqbal. He was killed by unknown gunmen in Orakzai district, which is a mountainous region in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). Iqbal’s death has opened up a can of worms, as he was directly involved with the Islamic State in KP and Afghanistan. …

Inside story of how India hunted terrorists & what security forces need to work on| India News

Hindustan Times Executive Editor Shishir Gupta and Senior Anchor Aayesha Varma discuss the Pahalgam terror attack and its wider geopolitical fallout. During the conversation, they look back at the massacre, interrogate Pakistan’s terror ecosystem, and ask what India must do to prevent another such tragedy. One year ago, 26 Hindu tourists were singled out and gunned down by Lashkar‑e‑Taiba terrorists in Pahalgam. A massacre that scarred Pahalgam One year ago, 26 Hindu tourists were singled out and gunned down by Lashkar‑e‑Taiba terrorists in the Baisaran valley near Pahalgam, in one of the most brutal communal massacres in recent years. The attackers identified Hindu men and shot them in front of their families, turning a holiday into a scene of horror. Gupta describes the “cost of terrorism” as humongous: lives lost, families destroyed, and a country forced to confront the failure of its security architecture in the face of a “rogue state” on India’s western border. In hindsight, he argues, every link in the security chain—from intelligence to local police response—was found wanting. Three Lashkar operatives, …
