At least 22 students were injured, including one seriously, after a private school bus overturned into a roadside drain in Latur district of central Maharashtra on Wednesday morning, reported the PTI. Police said the accident happened at around 9.30 am near the Sandol-Mahandol Road in Chakur tehsil when the bus was travelling to school with around 35 students on board. According to preliminary information, the bus belonged to Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Vidyalaya in Rachannawadi. Police said the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to leave the road and overturn into a small roadside drain. Local residents rushed to the scene and helped rescue the children before emergency services arrived. Injured students taken to hospital The injured students were taken to the Rural Hospital in Chakur for treatment. Police officers, led by Inspector Balaji Bhande, reached the scene and supervised the rescue operation. Ambulances were arranged to transport the injured children, while anxious parents gathered at both the accident site and the hospital.
