While playing, the boys slipped into the fast-flowing waters of the Shingo River. Akbar’s body was retrieved from the river in Hundurman a day later, but Zulqarnain couldn’t be traced. On Friday evening, a WhatsApp call from across the border informed the family that the body had been retrieved and buried in Gangani village of Baltistan, across the LoC. “He (Zulqarnain) would never go towards the river,” says his father Mohammad Hussain (38), a government school teacher. “They were three children, Zulqarnain, my sister’s son and another boy, relatively older. Image used for representation The Indian Army on Wednesday foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Bhimber Gali area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district after detecting suspicious terrorist movement during the early hours, officials said. Based on specific intelligence inputs and continuous surveillance, troops observed movement of suspected terrorists near the LoC and responded swiftly,  foiling an infiltration attempt, said the army in a post on ‘X’. Following the incident, additional troops were deployed in the area, and surveillance has been heightened with the support of ground and aerial assets to ensure safety of citizens in the region. “Own troops have been reoriented to ensure relentless domination of the area, supported by integrated ground and aerial surveillance.
