A court in Vadgaon Maval on Saturday rejected the Pune Rural Police’s request for an extension of police custody for the two accused in the murder of 25-year-old realtor Ketan Agarwal. Judicial Magistrate First Class A.M. Vibhute remanded Siya Goyal and her alleged partner, Chetan Chaudhary, to 14 days of judicial custody until July 16 after their police custody ended. The prosecution had requested an additional three days of police custody, saying investigators needed more time to examine digital evidence recovered from the accused’s mobile phones. Police told the court that the pair allegedly used coded language, nicknames and symbols while communicating.
