Maharashtra govt has signed MoUs worth Rs 4,080 cr in electronic, logistics: CM

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said Maharashtra has a unique opportunity to emerge as a leader in electronics manufacturing and modern logistics. Speaking at the signing of two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) at his official residence, Varsha, Fadnavis assured investors that the state government would act as a partner in their growth journey. “The government`s role is to help create a complete industrial ecosystem in the state. Entrepreneurs should consider the government as their partner in this journey,” he said. The agreements were signed between the Maharashtra government and leading electronics manufacturing company Jabil, as well as Dubai-based RSA Global, an official statement said. Major boost for industry and employment  It said that the two projects together are expected to bring investments worth Rs 4,080 crore to the state and generate around 4,750 direct and indirect employment opportunities. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday rubbished remarks made by Rahul Gandhi suggesting that the NDA government at the Centre could collapse within a year, describing the statement as little more than “daydreaming”, reported the PTI. Responding to questions from reporters, Fadnavis compared Gandhi’s comments to the well-known television serial Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne, which centred on fanciful dreams and unrealistic expectations. “There was once a popular television programme called Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne. His statement is nothing beyond that,” the Maharashtra chief minister remarked, the news agency reported. According to the Economic Survey of Maharashtra 2025-2026, the state sustained its economic leadership in India but has to identify challenges in health infrastructure and social sector capacity. The survey highlighted that Maharashtra’s nominal gross state domestic product (GSDP) is projected to reach Rs 51 lakh crore in 2025-26, up from Rs 46.22 lakh crore in 2024-25. This indicates ongoing economic activity growth across sectors. It said the state remains India’s largest economy, contributing around 14 percent of the GDP (gross domestic product).
