The recent apprehension of the accused in the violent house dacoity in Malkajgiri within four days offered a glimpse into this evolving policing model, where investigators used “layered digital tracking” and complex data analysis to follow a gang from Nepal across multiple cities before intercepting the accused near Meerut. The case involved a Nepali domestic help who, along with associates, allegedly tied up and sedated an elderly couple at their residence in a gated community in Jawaharnagar before fleeing with gold, silver and cash. Breakthrough Sources familiar with the investigation said the breakthrough came after investigators obtained SDR linked to one of the accused. Traffic police across Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri booked a total of 929 motorists for driving under the influence of alcohol during special enforcement drives conducted between Friday and Saturday, April 17 and April 18. Police said driving under the influence of alcohol is a serious offence and warned that if a drunk driver causes a fatal accident, they would be booked under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which carries a punishment of up to 10 years’ imprisonment along with a fine. In Malkajgiri 12 offenders were sentenced to jail along with fine, 16 awarded fine and community service, and 221 fined. 849 motorists booked for drunk driving in special drives across Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri

A total of 849 motorists were booked for driving under the influence of alcohol during special enforcement drives conducted by the traffic police in Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri over the weekend. Hyderabad traffic police conducted a two-day special drive on March 13 and 14, and booked 364 drivers. Of them, 313 were riding two-wheelers, 25 were driving three-wheelers and 26 were driving four-wheelers and other vehicles. Police said 66 offenders recorded blood alcohol concentration levels between 30 mg and 50 mg, while 174 had levels between 51 mg and 100 mg. Another 68 offenders recorded levels between 101 mg and 150 mg, and 29 had levels between 151 mg and 200 mg. Twelve offenders had levels between 201 mg and 250 mg, eight had levels between 251 mg and 300 mg and seven recorded levels above 300 mg. In Malkajgiri commissionerate, traffic police apprehended 223 offenders during weekend checks. According to an advisory issued by Rachakonda police commissioner G. Sudheer Babu, the diversions are intended to ensure the smooth flow of traffic while avoiding public inconvenience and potential hazards. The roadworks are also designed to address the persistent issue of water stagnation on this main thoroughfare, said the officer. Even before 7 a.m., voters started queuing up outside polling booths. At the Zilla Parishad Boys High School in Old Alwal, all the four polling booths witnessed long queues.
