The police suspect that the preference for a son could be behind the killings. The incident took place at Prem Chand Park area on Wednesday morning and first responders were in shock when they witnessed the horrific sight, where 27-year-old Anita and her daughters, aged three, four and five years, were lying in a pool of blood. According to police, all four victims had their throats slit with a sharp-edged weapon. “The injuries were so deep that their windpipes were cut,” a senior police officer was quoted as saying by news agency PTI, describing the crime scene as “extremely brutal”. New Delhi: A man murdered his wife and hid her body in a bed in their home in Delhi with the intention of chopping it up, but his hunger for killing did not stop there. Having fled to Amritsar, he set out for Delhi a few days later, aiming to murder a friend of his wife that he suspected her of having an affair with. He was arrested on the way back from Amritsar and is now in police custody. Deputy Commissioner of Police Ankit Chauhan said the body of 26-year-old Deepika Chauhan was recovered from inside a box bed in southwest Delhi’s Janakpuri on Friday. The mouth of the body was wrapped with white tape to delay its decomposition. Investigation revealed that Deepika, who used to work in a spa, was married to Dhanraj, a motorcycle rider for popular bike taxi apps. A 26-year-old man was arrested for shooting at his wife at Kalamchoura in Tripura’s Sepahijala district, police said on Tuesday. The woman, who sustained bullet injuries on her hand and feet, is admitted to a hospital. The police identified the man as Balabir Singh, a resident of Hapania in West Tripura district, and said they had recovered a pistol along with two rounds of ammunition from him. “The investigation is underway to find out the reasons behind the incident. We arrested him from Hapania and will hand him over to the Kalamchoura police,” said an officer from the Amtali police station. On November 10, a man named Raju Deb was arrested in the North district for possessing a pistol and ammunition. During a raid, the police recovered a 7.62 mm Russian automatic pistol, live cartridges, two smartphones and a vehicle from him. According to the police, Deb confessed to have bought the weapon from Dimapur, Nagaland. The man, identified as Rangaswamy, attacked his wife, Kumari, and her mother with a sickle-like sharp weapon as a crowd gathered and shouted at him to stop. In a horrific video recorded by one of the onlookers, Rangaswamy is seen mercilessly hacking a woman slumped on the ground in the middle of roadside stalls and covered in blood. The stalls lay abandoned as he continued to brutally strike her in the middle of a busy road. The man’s wife died, while her mother sustained severe injuries. The police rushed to the spot and arrested Rangaswamy. They then took his mother-in-law to a local hospital for treatment. She had returned home just 20 days back. Suspecting that his wife was having an extramarital affair, the man picked up a razor blade and sliced her neck, said police. The woman, Sabreen, is dead. The man did the same with his three-year-old daughter, Hiba, and then also tried to kill himself, the police added. The accused husband, Javed, a native of Hapur’s Pilkhua, and his daughter are said to be critical and admitted to a Delhi hospital. The incident was reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad. Kailash Bagari allegedly murdered his wife Tinku Bai (26) in their rented house at Prem Nagar-2 colony under the Udhyog Nagar Police Station limits on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday, Circle Officer DSP Dharmveer Singh said. The couple is survived by two daughters, aged 5 years and 7 years, Mr Singh said. Bagari, who hailed from Mau in Madhya Pradesh, got married to Bai around 10 years ago, he said. The deceased man worked as a labourer here, while the woman worked at a junk dealer’s shop, he added.
