KL Rahul reveals message from DC management which has fuelled his IPL 2026 success | Cricket News

2 min readUpdated: May 5, 2026 04:58 PM IST KL Rahul seems to have turned a corner with regards to his approach to batting in T20 cricket in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Delhi Capitals star has scored 433 runs in nine matches but it is his strike rate of 185.84 that stands out. The highest strike rate that he has finished with in his previous seasons in the IPL is 158.41 in 2018 and Rahul has often been heavily criticised for seemingly failing to keep up with the big-hitting standards of the day in T20 cricket. Rahul, who opens the batting for the Delhi Capitals, said that his changed approach this season is reflective of the way T20 cricket itself has transformed in recent years. “T20 cricket has evolved over the last two or three years, especially in the IPL. You can see patterns in how teams are winning, and recently, teams that win the Powerplay often go on to win the game. A few years ago, games were …

Rishabh Pant’s ‘too many minds’ comment threw LSG management under the bus, says Shaun Pollock | Cricket News

3 min readApr 27, 2026 04:36 PM IST Former South Africa captain Shaun Pollock slammed Lucknow Super Giants skipper Rishabh Pant’s comments that had hinted at too many decision-makers in the camp following their sixth defeat of the IPL 2026 season on Sunday night. Pant’s men suffered yet another embarrassing defeat after they failed to chase down a 156-run target at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, handing Kolkata Knight Riders a pulsating Super Over win despite a sluggish start after being sent into bat. Post the defeat, a fifth in succession and an eighth consecutive loss at home, Pant hinted that there were too many opinions being fed to him from a vaunted coaching set-up. Reflecting on the decision to bowl spinner Digvesh Rathi in the final over, during which KKR batter Rinku Singh slammed him for four consecutive sixes, Pant said: “See, there are always times in cricket where you can turn a little bit of bowling at the same time. But sometimes bowlers have to bowl those hard overs. ALSO READ | ‘Rishabh …

‘Couldn’t hit water if he fell out of boat’: LSG lambasted, management shredded for ‘criminal’ Nicholas Pooran move

Former South Africa pacer Dale Steyn minced no words as he tore into the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) management for keeping faith in Nicholas Pooran and sending him out in the Super Over against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 match on Sunday. The left-handed batter has been woefully out of form in the tournament, looking a pale shadow of his old self. The move to send the former West Indies captain backfired as he was dismissed on the first ball of the Super Over by Sunil Narine, and LSG eventually just managed one run, and the target was overhauled by the three-time champions quite easily. Nicholas Pooran of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) clean bowled by Sunil Narine. Pooran, viewed as one of the best T20 batters in the world, has managed just 82 runs in the 19th edition of the tournament so far, at an average of 10.25. In the regular game time against KKR, the 30-year-old returned with just nine runs off 12 balls and was eventually …

3 min readMar 21, 2026 11:44 AM IST With just a few days left for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, there has been a growing list of players who are set to miss out on the initial phase of the tournament due to various reasons, but it’s the omission of the ace Australian pace trio of Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc that has made the biggest headline. Cricket Australia (CA) is reported to be taking a cautious approach to managing its pacers ahead of a gruelling international schedule, which means Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be without their star fast bowlers for the first few games because of CA’s workload management plan. Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra slammed CA for their conservative approach, saying the IPL franchises would, at some point, need to take a call on this. He said, “I’m thinking, now if Mitchell Starc is also not coming at the start, what is Cricket Australia even doing? You didn’t let Josh Hazlewood come. Pat Cummins isn’t …
