Right-arm quick Matt Henry has been ruled out of New Zealand’s last two T20Is against Pakistan and will continue “his injury rehabilitation programme.” New Zealand Cricket (NZC) released a statement on Saturday to confirm the experienced quick’s omission from the series, “BLACKCAPS pace-bowler Matt Henry has been ruled out of the remainder of the KFC T20I series against Pakistan as he continues his injury rehabilitation programme.” Despite a shoulder injury, Henry was included in New Zealand’s squads for the fourth and fifth T20Is against Pakistan. Henry injured his right shoulder during the recent ICC Champions Trophy semi-final win against South Africa. He has also been managing an ongoing left knee issue. Canterbury pace-bowler Zak Foulkes, who was named for the first three T20Is, has been retained for the remainder of the series. The 22-year-old returned with figures of 1/11 (three overs) in the first game and 0/32 (three overs) in the second game. Another notable tweak in the Kiwis’ squad is Kyle Jamieson’s absence from the last two games of the five-match affair. …

Matt Henry To Miss CT 2025 Final? New Zealand Captain Mitchell Santner Breaks Silence On Star’s Injury

New Zealand skipper Mitchell Santner said India’s understanding of the conditions has made the Champions Trophy final a “challenging” assignment, but expressed confidence in his team’s ability to adapt. The Kiwis are eyeing their first ICC ODI title on Sunday, following their victory in the 2000 KnockOuts Trophy, where they defeated India in the final in Kenya. “We know India are going to be a challenge. They’ve been playing some very good cricket. They understand these conditions pretty well,” said Santner in the pre-match press meet on Saturday. Santner hoped the experience of playing against India a few days back here in a league match will stand his side in good stead. “I think, obviously, having the run against India a few days ago will definitely help us out, understanding the conditions a little bit better. “But it is a knockout game. And I guess whoever turns up on the day could take home the trophy,” he added. The final is expected to be played on the same surface as the one that …

India Played To The Conditions Beautifully, Says New Zealand’s Matt Henry

After suffering a 44-run defeat to India in the 2025 Champions Trophy, New Zealand seamer Matt Henry said the Rohit Sharma-led side played beautifully as per the conditions due to the knowledge they acquired from their previous Group A games at the Dubai International Stadium. On a slow pitch, India managed to make 249/9 in 50 overs, with Shreyas Iyer’s 79 and a late 45 by Hardik Pandya taking them to the competitive total. In return, Varun Chakaravarthy picked 5-42 in just his second ODI game to bowl out New Zealand for 205 in 45.3 overs. New Zealand will take on Group B toppers South Africa in the second semi-final in Lahore on Wednesday. “The way to have four front line spinners was a really effective way to play. (India) having that luxury of knowing … they played to the conditions beautifully. We knew that coming here, they were going to play the four frontline spinners … and they bowled beautiful. They read the situation and read the conditions well,” Henry was quoted …

1st Time In 91 Years: India Register Embarrassing Test Record vs New Zealand

1st Time In 91 Years: India Register Embarrassing Test Record vs New Zealand

Matt Henry and William O’Rourke picked nine wickets collectively to bowl out India for just 46 on day two of first Test at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday. With this, India have now recorded their lowest total at home and third lowest Test score overall. This was the first time in 91 years (since India’s first home Test in 1931) that they scored less than 50 in an innings. Under overcast condition, Henry exhibited great control on line and length to pick 5-15 and also reached the landmark of 100 Test wickets. O’Rourke, playing in his first Test in India, made a fantastic impression with his awkward bounce and mixing of lengths to pick 4-22 while veteran pacer Tim Southee took a scalp. For India, right from them electing to bat first amidst downpour threats, things backfired spectacularly. With no grass on the pitch, they picked three spinners for the first time in this season, with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj being the only pacers. But with conditions heavily favouring an accurate …
