Bluesky now has a specific tab for mentions in your notifications as part of the app’s just-released 1.96 update. With the mentions tab, it’s much easier to see your replies or conversations you’ve been tagged in on the platform. Speaking of replies, update 1.96 lets you easily access settings that let you control how replies on posts appear to you. Replies can be linear, meaning they show up one post after another, or threaded, which means they will appear in indented threads (kind of like how they appear on Reddit). You can also sort replies by newest, oldest, most-liked, “hot,” and “random” (which Bluesky also calls “Poster’s Roulette”). If you choose to set a custom domain as your username, with 1.96, Bluesky will also reserve your old .bsky.social name so that it can’t be picked up by someone else. In the purported suicide note that surfaced on social media, businessman Manoj Parmar urged Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders not to leave his children alone and accused the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and BJP leaders of harassment. WhatsApp has introduced a new set of features for status updates. The Meta-owned instant messaging platform is rolling out new status likes and private mentions features for Android and iOS users. Likes on Status is a new way to acknowledge a contact’s status update by tapping the heart emoji. With private mentions, users can now mention and tag contacts in their status updates. Hours after CPI-M leader Sitaram Yechury’s death, his family members decided to donate his body to AIMS Delhi for teaching and research purposes, the hospital said in a statement. Sitaram Yechury, 72, was admitted to AIIMS on 19 August 2024 due to pneumonia and passed away on 12 September 2024 at 3:05 pm. Yechury had been in a critical condition for the last few days and was on respiratory support. On 14th September the body of Comrade Sitaram Yechury will be kept at the Communist Party of India (Marxist) headquarters, A.K. Gopalan Bhavan, Gole Market, New Delhi for public viewing and paying homage between 11.00 AM and 3.00 PM.
