New Delhi: Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visited the Hyperloop testing facility at IIT Madras on Saturday and said that the Hyperloop tube, being developed with the help of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, will soon be the world’s longest tube, measuring 410 meters in length. The 410-meter-long Hyperloop test tube located at IIT Chennai is already the longest Hyperloop test facility in Asia. Hyperloop is a high-speed train that runs in a vacuum in a tube. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Sunday in a social media post added, “Longest Hyperloop tube in Asia (410 m)… soon to be the world’s longest.” On March 15, the Union Minister visited the Hyperloop testing facility at IIT Madras Discovery Campus and witnessed a live demonstration. Pune: Dattatraya Ramdas Gade, the man allegedly responsible for the rape of a 26-year-old woman in Pune, is a history sheeter, who was out on bail, the police have said. A manhunt is on in the city since the young woman reported the rape earlier today. The police have deployed eight teams and sniffer dogs. Gade has at least six cases of theft, robbery, and chain-snatching registered against him in Pune and the adjoining Ahilyanagar district. Pune: A 26-year-old woman was raped inside a bus early Tuesday morning – while it was parked in the middle of Pune’s busy Swargate Bus Stand and around 100 metres from a police station. The accused has been named as Dattatraya Ramdas – he was identified through a CCTV feed – but has not yet been arrested. The police have formed eight special teams, and deployed a canine sniffer unit, to track him down. Ramdas, 36, already has a criminal record.
