Pati Patni aur Woh Do: Do we need another film minimising adultery as a comedy of errors? | Opinion-entertainment News

It’s 2026, human beings have managed to photograph the far side of the moon, but closer home, there is yet another iteration of Pati Patni aur Woh, titled Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, scheduled to grace our screens on May 15. Ayushmann Khurrana, the poster boy for progressive comedies that spotlight prickly social issues, will seemingly play a sperm donor of a different kind in this film. The teaser shows him romancing Wamiqa Gabbi, Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh, but it is unclear (atleast to me) who his wife is. The Pati Patni Aur Woh Do teaser uses clips from the first Pati Patni aur Woh starring Sanjeev Kumar, which released in 1978 and the 2019 remake starring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday to inform us that “patiyon ki fitrat” or the innate disposition of husbands never changes. Hurdler Tejas Shirse breaks 60m national record, says minimising mistakes is the key | Sport-others News

Tejas Shirse showed early promise for the 2025 season when he broke the national record as he finished sixth in the men’s 60 metre hurdles with a timing of 7.65 seconds at the CMCM Luxembourg Indoor Meeting. Shirse’s consistency was impressive as he clocked the exact same timing in the heats too. This is the second national record Shirse has broken in less than a year. In May last year, at the Monet Grand Prix in Finland he clocked 13.41 seconds to better Siddhanth Thingalaya’s mark of 13.48s. Even in the 60 metres, the previous record was held by Thingalaya. Talking about how running the 60 metres hurdles will help in the longer race, Shirse said the main objective was to have an error-free race. “Running the 60 metres (hurdles) fast helps because it is a short race. You try not to make mistakes because that will cost you. In yesterday’s race also, I clipped some hurdles and it cost me time. Minimising mistakes in the 110 hurdles and helping me stay sharp (is how …

Tamil Nadu train accident: Empty goods train took the impact of collision, minimising casualties

Tiruvallur SP Srinivasa Perumal and his team were the first to reach the accident site | Photo Credit: Special Arrangement The empty goods train taking the impact of the rear-end collision as well as the inbuilt safety features in the Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches played a vital role in minimising casualties in the Mysuru-Dharbhanga Bagmati Express train accident at Kavarapettai in Southern Railway’s Chennai Division on Friday (October 11, 2024) night. The express train, speeding at about 90 kmph, was to pass through the Kavarapetti railway station via the main line for which signals were cleared. However, a suspected signal failure led the train to the loop line, where a goods train was stabled. “Though the train, with over 1,000 passengers on board, rammed into the rear end of the goods train, only about 20 people suffered injuries, a couple of them grievously, in the accident. The train rammed into the brake van and came to a halt after several coaches derailed. Most of the impact was taken by the empty goods train rake, …
