Manush Shah-Diya Chitale clinch mixed doubles title
The Indian mixed doubles pair of Manush Shah and Diya Chitale were crowned champions at the 2026 WTT Contender Lagos in Nigeria on Saturday. The duo, playing in their second consecutive WTT Contender final, claimed a straight-game win, 11-8, 14-12, 11-8, over the French pair of Leo De Nordest and Camille Lutz. Manush, partnering with Manav Thakkar, has also reached the men’s doubles final with an 11-4, 11-6, 11-9 win over the host pairing of Taiwo and Matthew. They will take on the Romanian pair of Lulian Chrita and Andrei Istrate in the final on Sunday. Manush also had a good outing in the singles department and was the only Indian to reach the semi-finals, before losing to Oh Junsong of South Korea. On the other hand, the two women’s doubles pair of Ayhika and Suthirtha Mukherjee and Yashaswini Ghorpade and Diya bowed out in the semi-finals.
