Kharge sparks row over ‘terrorist’ remark, later says he meant PM is “terrorising political parties”
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday stepped up his attack on Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi, accusing him of “terrorising” political parties and the people by misusing government machinery and Central agencies to stifle the Opposition. Addressing a press conference in Chennai alongside All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary (Organisation) KC Venugopal, Kharge initially referred to the PM as a “terrorist” while criticising the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s (AIADMK’s) alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
