A report has revealed that the franchise is yet to pay the fees of its foreign players and staff members. Rajshahi owner Shafiq Rahman, earlier, announced that the tickets have been booked for the foreign cricketers to return to their respective countries. Four people have been booked for allegedly submitting forged documents to register as a voter with the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of Okhla, police said Sunday. Ravi Kumar Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast Delhi), said that a complaint was submitted by the Okhla ERO against Mohammad Haris, Anu Sharma, Anil Kumar Jain and Mohammad Azizur Rahman. An FIR was subsequently filed under sections 336 (forgery for the purpose of cheating) and 340 (using forged documents as genuine) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). In the complaint, ERO Vinod Kumar alleged that Haris, Sharma and Jain included “tampered electricity bills, while Rahman used a forged Aadhaar card during online applications for voter registration through Form-6.” The latest FIR comes after the ERO on December 26 lodged a similar complaint against Jamil Alam, Kisunee, Mohammad Naim and Sabana Khatoon for “uploading fake documents as proof of identity and address” for new voter registration and changing their registered address, added police.
