Maharashtra govt has signed MoUs worth Rs 4,080 cr in electronic, logistics: CM

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said Maharashtra has a unique opportunity to emerge as a leader in electronics manufacturing and modern logistics. Speaking at the signing of two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) at his official residence, Varsha, Fadnavis assured investors that the state government would act as a partner in their growth journey. “The government`s role is to help create a complete industrial ecosystem in the state. Entrepreneurs should consider the government as their partner in this journey,” he said. The agreements were signed between the Maharashtra government and leading electronics manufacturing company Jabil, as well as Dubai-based RSA Global, an official statement said. Major boost for industry and employment  It said that the two projects together are expected to bring investments worth Rs 4,080 crore to the state and generate around 4,750 direct and indirect employment opportunities. 3 Kashmir universities end tie-ups with US-based academic foundation

Three major universities of Kashmir have ended their MoUs in academic collaboration with Kashmir Care Foundation, a US-based organisation, less than a year after entering into the arrangements, officials said. The ties were ended in less a year after entering into arrangements, informed officials. (File) Kashmir University (KU), Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) and Sheri Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST-K) cancelled their MoUs with the foundation last month after receiving ‘adverse reports’ during the review process by the institutions and UT agencies, they added. Kashmir Care Foundation is a non-profit organisation run by Altaf A Lal and is based in Atlanta, USA. The three universities had inked the MoUs with the Kashmir Care Foundation at different intervals of time last year. “The Letter of Agreement (LoA) signed between SKUAST-K and Kashmir Care Foundation (KCF), Atlanta, USA on 15 April, 2025 is hereby cancelled with immediate effect,” a communication by prof Haroon R Naik , director research of SKUAST, said. Under an MoU with Global Workforce Development, which is an initiative of Apollo Hospitals, GWD proposed a collaboration to empower Telangana’s nursing and healthcare talent. Under the partnership, GWD will support candidates through specialised skill enhancement, structured language training and globally aligned certification programmes. The Maharashtra government on Wednesday signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with 74 companies for investment of Rs 930.11 crore in Beed district of the state, the officials said, reported the PTI. The MoUs were signed during an investment summit organised by the state industries department in Beed city of Maharashtra. “The signing of MoUs will provide employment to 6,036 people,” a district official said, according to the PTI. Companies involved in agriculture and food processing, sugar, oil, paint and other products inked pacts for Rs 930.11 crore investment in Beed district. Of the total amount, two sugar companies will invest Rs 562 crore, he said, the news agency reported.
