Govt to push five new bills, prioritise pending FCRA amendment
The Centre is set to pursue an ambitious legislative agenda during the Eight Session of the 18th Lok Sabha, with plans to introduce five new bills while prioritising the passage of two pending legislations, including the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026. The Monsoon Session of Parliament is scheduled to run from July 20 to August 13. Focus on pending bills Among the government’s top priorities is the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, which was introduced earlier this year. The Centre is also expected to take up the Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan Bill, 2025, introduced in the Lok Sabha in December last year and later referred to a joint Committee for detailed examination.
