Bengaluru: A special court in Bengaluru has deferred its decision on the Enforcement Directorate’s petition challenging the “B report” of Lokayukta in the MUDA land case, in which Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has been named. The court said it would not give a decision on the petition until the final report of the Lokayukta Police is filed. Judge Santosh Gajanan Bhat has directed the Lokayukta Police to continue the investigation and submit the final report. In the “B Report”, the Lokayukta Police had given a clean chit to the Chief Minister, his wife Parvati, wife’s brother and the land seller due to lack of evidence. The ED, however, has challenged the report and demanded a deeper probe. New Delhi: The Karnataka High Court on Friday quashed the Enforcement Directorate’s summons to BM Parvathi, the wife of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, both whom are key accused in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority, or MUDA, land scam case. A single-judge bench of Justice M Nagaprasanna also struck down summons to Urban Development Minister Byrathi Suresh, whom the ED wanted to question. The agency is probing money laundering allegations tied to the alleged MUDA land scam. In January the court had stayed the summons. Minister for Urban Development and Town Planning Byrathi Suresh on Friday said there is no question of sparing the wrongdoers in the alleged irregularities in the allotment of sites under the 50:50 scheme and added that the government will act against those who got such sites illegally from the MUDA. At the same time, the concerns of the genuine land losers and the lands of those who had been used for layout formations by the MUDA without their knowledge will be addressed. Bengaluru: Karnataka anti-corruption watchdog Lokayukta said Wednesday it had found no evidence incriminating Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, or his wife, in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority land scam case. However, a money-laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate remains active. In a notice to the complainant – Snehamayi Krishna, one three anti-corruption activists who wrote last year to Governor Thawarchand Gehlot, seeking Siddaramaiah’s prosecution – the Lokayukta said there is no material to prove charges against the ex-Chief Minister and the other accused – his wife, BM Parvathi, his brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy, and Devaraju, who owned the plots in question. “Since allegations against Accused No 1 (Siddaramaiah) to Accused No 4 have not been proven due to lack of evidence, the final report is being submitted to the High Court,” the Lokayukta told Krishna.
