Multilevel facility: ‘Poor infra, fire safety’, MC lists Sector-17 parking overhaul

Municipal Corporation (MC) officials were directed on Friday to take up repair works at the multilevel parking in Sector 17 and ensure cleanliness for an overhaul of the facility. During an inspection, MC chief engineer Sanjay Arora flagged several areas requiring urgent attention and issued strict directions for immediate corrective measures, officials said. Pointing to broken pathways, doors, window panes and rolling shutters, he directed officials to get them repaired without delay. Officials were also asked to ensure regular and thorough cleaning of all parking floors. Sanjay Arora instructed that the automatic slip-generating mechanism be upgraded for improved efficiency and transparency. (HT File) A comprehensive inspection of the fire-fighting systems was also ordered and officials were asked to ensure they are functional. He stressed the need to make the sump functional to ensure adequate water management within the premises. The chief engineer called for installation of proper lighting across all floors and restoration of the ventilation system. Hyderabad | Nod for multi-level parking at KBR National Park entry gate

After rejecting it repeatedly, the standing committee of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has finally approved the proposal for multi-level smart parking for two-wheelers and four-wheelers near the Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park’s entry gate. During its meeting on Thursday (September 12, 2024) the committee has recommended to the GHMC Commissioner, for ratification of the proposal for development and maintenance of the parking for 10 years by the highest bidder Navnirman Association, on pilot basis. The contract will be on design-build-finance-operate-transfer (DBFOT) basis. Though presented in the previous standing committee meeting, the proposal was postponed upon the corporators’ insistence to inspect the location. Accordingly, a site visit was organised recently for the committee members. The committee has also passed the proposal to extend the pay scale of junior assistants to the community organisers and community coordinators, 90 in number. Mysuru civic body to build multilevel car park on MUDA land

Mysuru City Corporation plans to construct a multilevel car park to ease parking crisis in the city.  | Photo Credit: M A Sriram The prospects of Mysuru City Corporation’s plans of building a multilevel car park for easing the parking crisis in the city and a commercial complex improved after the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) agreed to allot land for the same. A plot measuring 1.20 acres in Survey Number 69 Block Number 2 near Shakti Dhama has been identified for the MCC’s multistoried car parking project. Land for construction of MCC’s commercial complex has been identified near JSS Medical College in Bannimantap area. At a recent meeting, MUDA agreed to give the land to MCC for the project. This was disclosed at a joint media conference at the MUDA office on January 9 by Mayor Shivakumar and MUDA Chairman Yashashwi S. Somashekar. The Mayor had sought land from the MUDA for the parking project and commercial complex. Apart from that, the MCC wanted land for construction of Zonal 9 office (four sites at …
