Mumbai woman assaults 5-year-old girl, burns her with hot iron rod for hiding her cat; arrested | Mumbai News
The Mumbai police arrested a 38-year-old woman for allegedly assaulting a five-year-old girl with a hot iron rod for hiding the woman’s pet cat. The girl’s family alerted the police following which an FIR was registered. An officer said the incident took place around 11 am on Thursday at Shivaji Nagar in Govandi. The girl’s parents, who have been residing there for the past three months, had left her in the neighbour’s care. At the neighbour’s house, the girl was with Nishad Shaikh, 38, when she hid the woman’s cat, officers said. When the girl refused to tell her where the cat was, the woman got upset. Shaikh allegedly hit the child on her head using an iron rod and then used a heated iron rod to burn her right leg. The girl was treated at Shatabdi Hospital and discharged.
