Dhurandhar 2 gets more abuses muted in updated theatrical print: Report

Dhurandhar: The Revenge has been ruling the box office as well as social media trends for multiple reasons, even almost three weeks after its release. One of the topics that got everyone chatting was the abusive words used in the film. While a lot of them were muted by the Central Board of Film Certification ahead of its release, the audience was surprised to hear many of them as they were in the film`s print. However, if recent reports are to be believed, a new print has been sent to theatres where more such abusive words and phrases have been muted. More abuses muted from Dhurandhar 2 According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the makers have sent a new print, in which they have muted a few abusive words. A source reportedly told the portal, “In the earlier version, some abuses were muted, but many of them were left untouched. In the new print, more cuss words have been censored. Deepak Tijori questions CBFC over muted cuss words in Dhurandhar 2

Deepak Tijori questions CBFC over muted cuss words in Dhurandhar 2

Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 was passed with 21 cuts by the CBFC ahead of its release. As per the modifications, the film was granted an A certificate and cuss words were muted. However, actor Deepak Tijori has questioned the logic behind muting cuss words. Reacting to the film’s censorship, he criticised the inconsistency in partially muting abuses despite its adult certification, also highlighting the contrast between theatrical cuts and unfiltered OTT versions. Deepak Tijori on muting cuss words in Dhurandhar 2 Taking to Instagram, Tijori questioned the logic behind partially muting abusive words in theatrical versions. He expressed, “Maybe I just don’t have the kind of intellect that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) or its board members possess, because I genuinely don’t understand this – why mute half the abuses and let the other half stay? At places, keep some and fully mute others?” He further pointed out that films carrying an ‘A’ certification are already meant for adult audiences, making the partial censorship seem redundant. “Especially when the film …

O’ Romeo Third Weekend Box Office: Shahid Kapoor & Triptii Dimri starrer records muted trend; Hits Rs 56.50 crore in 17 days

O’ Romeo, directed by Vishal Bharadwaj and starring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri in the lead roles, added Rs. 2.65 crore to the tally in its third weekend, with Rs. 90 lakh coming on its third Sunday. The movie witnessed a drop on Day 17 due to the cricket match; it would have either stayed flat or recorded a nominal spike.  Allied to its first week of Rs. 41.75 crore and second week of Rs. 12 crore, the running cume of O’ Romeo reached Rs. 56.40 crore nett at the Indian box office. Based on current trends, the romantic action drama is looking to wind up its third week at Rs. 3.50-4 crore, which will eventually take its total cume to Rs. 58 crore nett.  Co-starring Avinash Tiwary, Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia, Nana Patekar, Farida Dalal, and others, the movie is looking to wind its entire run around Rs. 60 crore nett or so. Not that it changes anything for the Shahid Kapoor starrer, just that, at one point, even reaching Rs. 50 crore nett felt like an …

Assi Box Office Collections: Taapsee Pannu’s courtroom drama records muted drop, collects Rs 45 lakh on Day 6

Assi Box Office Collections: Taapsee Pannu’s courtroom drama records muted drop, collects Rs 45 lakh on Day 6

Assi, directed by Anubhav Sinha, and starring Taapsee Pannu in the lead role, regsitered another drop on its first Wednesday. Though the drop isn’t big but it is coming from an already low figure, so that doesn’t make any cut. Estimates suggest that the movie collected Rs. 45 lakh on Day 6, bringing the cume to Rs. 5.60 crore nett at the Indian box office.  Co-starring Kani Kusruti, Revathy, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, the courtroom drama will face The Kerala Story 2 from the coming weekend. Since the movie has recieved a favourable word-of-mouth, it should see a spike on the second weekend.  One of the major factors why the Taapsee Pannu film isn’t gaining the required traction is lack of interest among the audience. The movie had lowkey promotions, which also affected its box office potential.  Furthermore, audience now has a notion of considering such films as OTT movies, as they have now build enough patience to wait for movies’ digital release. The stakeholders needs to disrupt this patience and elongate …

Do Deewane Sheher Mein Box Office Collections: Siddhant Chaturvedi and Mrunal Thakur starrer records muted spike on Day 2, nets Rs 1.50 crore

Do Deewane Sheher Mein Box Office Collections: Siddhant Chaturvedi and Mrunal Thakur starrer records muted spike on Day 2, nets Rs 1.50 crore

Do Deewane Sheher Mein collected Rs. 1.50 crore on its second day, after debuting with merely Rs. 1.25 crore. The two-day cume of the Siddhant Chaturvedi and Mrunal Thakur starrer stands at Rs. 2.75 crore net at the Indian box office.  The first day of Do Deewane Sheher Mein was probably inflated with some offers in PVRINOX as on Day 2 the chain saw a drop in business while other places were up by 40-50 per cent. That said, Day 2 remained largely flat with a miniscule 20 per cent growth overall, which leaves the movie with no chance at the box office but to only see a disappointing theatrical run.  Based on the trends, the romantic drama is looking to wind its opening weekend around Rs. 4 to 5 crore nett.  Directed by Ravi Udayawar and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the movie mainly met with positive reception among the audience. Still it didn’t see the kind of growth it needed over the weekend. It needs to work on the mouth publicity and show …

But still I had hopes to witness the uncensored version…” Another fan commented, “Why the f**k Dhurandhar is so heavily censored on Netflix? Despite holding an ‘A’ (Adults only) rating, the streaming version features muted dialogues — censored swear words, abuses, and in some cases, even crucial dialogues are muted, and approximately 10 minutes of edited (cut scenes) compared to the theatrical.” Another tweet …
